Plus a rail for scope mounts and a bipod mount unlike the regular magpul one
fine ill go run by myself....
That’s definitely a good option @Artemis
saving up for a scope is gonna be interesting lol
Lol this man thought I could run a 10k
I think I may save up for the scope first while doing research, then buy a rifle to mount it to
That’s the real professional move
That is literally, the best way to go about it, haha.
weird, there's a few articles saying mil dot is better than moa but almost everything out there is moa. I don't have any practical experience with both, I just know moa is something like 1.04something inches per 100 yards and mil dot is what the marines use I think
currently looking at the nightforce shv 5-20x56. I kinda want the nxs 5.5-22x56 but it's expeeeensive
Anyone have experience with 5.11 plate carriers
ah lovely, apparently mil reticle + moa turrets = mind numbing algebra. Going to avoid that
Now for people to work on improving the design
Ever look at guns you're considering buying and wonder how they can be so different?
In this case an Enfield, and a KSG
Oh yeah you don’t want mil reticle and MOA turrets, I ran a DMR like that for a deployment. Many math.
There isn’t any actual difference between mil and MOA, it’s the gun equivalent of inches vs centimeters
I like the idea of mil, it sounds easier to gauge distances with
which would be nice if anyone made one
Idk where your looking but there’s just as many mil scopes as MOA
So I just got back and ended up doin 9 miles. Did any of you lazy fuckers go with me?
I'm seeing a ton of scopes with mildots but moa turrets
I did 5.6
@Artemis are you looking at the Internet from 2012? 🤨
I got a vortex gen 1 pst 4-16x ffp for $350 and I love it
Yeah, I was dummy and got me a scope with moa turrets and mildots on it. It was big dumb.
So once I have my zero, I will only be using mildots. Thank god I'm not a sniper.
I'm looking at trijicon, leupold, and nightforce primarily. All three don't seem to make a single scope with mrad adjustments
They have mil reticles, but not adjustments
If you are gonna get a Mildot scope I'd reccomend 1st focal plane so you can actually make range estimations with it
I promise nightforce and trij do.
Idk about leupold but they should
You can do range est with both but with 2nd fp you have to be at max magnification
I've found one that looks like it fits my requirements. The nightforce shv 4-14x50 f1. First focal plane mildot reticle with 0.1 mrad adjustments at a price I can sorta reasonably afford
not sure I'm a fan of the reticle though, it's a bit cluttered
Oh I had one of those once! That’s an awesome choice man
It doesn’t do it justice, but that’s it on a Remington 5R
The reticle is much more visible than that to your eye
As far as reticles, there’s a learning curve, but the Horus/tremor style reticles offer a lot of capability over a traditional mil-dot style crosshairs
