I forgot where I heard this but there was one that went something along the lines of: shotgun pellets are like a party, it's only good if everyone shows up at the same place around the same time

2020-05-07 18:26:45 UTC

unrelated, just thought it was funny

2020-05-07 18:27:16 UTC

I’m headed into work for a few minutes, but I’ll link some DocGKR reference stuff in this chat later today

2020-05-07 18:27:40 UTC

But essentially shot placement, penetration, expansion. That’s what you should care about, roughly in that order.

2020-05-07 18:28:25 UTC

That reminds me of when I saw an ad for a single barrel break action 12 gauge at a store for $99.99 I was so bummed out I didn't have the money at the time.

2020-05-07 18:36:25 UTC

Anyone ever run a magnifier for a red dot
I'm curious if it throws off accuracy and you have to re-Zero on the magnifier

2020-05-07 18:38:07 UTC

I use one and the magnifier doesn't throw off accuracy.

2020-05-07 18:38:21 UTC

I do. I haven't done extensive shooting yet. But the magnifier doesn't effect zero

2020-05-07 18:38:23 UTC

They have adjustments for centering your reticle but it doesn't adjust point of aim

2020-05-07 18:38:53 UTC

By 'zeroing' your magnifier, all you're doing is adjusting the glass to where the dot is in the center. The dot itself doesn't actually move.

2020-05-07 18:41:20 UTC

BCM's uppers come with a compensator ☹️

2020-05-07 18:41:27 UTC

For sure, never used one as wasn't sure

2020-05-07 18:41:33 UTC

Yeah, the Mod 0 is decent from what I hear.

2020-05-07 18:41:47 UTC

It may look like a bird cage in a way, but it's an actual comp

2020-05-07 18:42:27 UTC

I can understand if someone doesn't want it though. I've got a regular a2 on my 11.5 because I don't want more blast if I have to use it indoors

2020-05-07 18:43:14 UTC

I have a F&W muzzle device.. it's a flash hider, brake and comp all in one device

2020-05-07 18:43:23 UTC

For my 11.5

2020-05-07 18:44:07 UTC

Looks like that

2020-05-07 18:46:09 UTC

How much did it run you?

2020-05-07 18:46:52 UTC

It wasn't that much... I don't remember, lemme see how much these devices go for

2020-05-07 18:47:51 UTC

Vg6 Epsilon goes for about $50

2020-05-07 18:48:00 UTC

Aero makes them

2020-05-07 18:48:09 UTC

Mod 0 claims to hide flash too.. I assumed you had to choose compensator or flash hider and that if it does both it doesn't do either as well.

2020-05-07 18:48:56 UTC

Bullshit, this thing is amazing. Lmao. It doesn't hide flash 100% but it does suppress it. And the comp portion works really well.

2020-05-07 18:49:18 UTC

I have shot it at night with NVGs and I retained vision just fine, it wasn't super bright.

2020-05-07 18:50:12 UTC

Good to know

2020-05-07 18:51:33 UTC

On a rifle-length barrel it is great. You'll hardly feel any movement. It is superior to the A2 in that aspect at least.

2020-05-07 18:51:48 UTC

I wonder if I can find other people's experience with the flash-hider portion though

2020-05-07 18:54:40 UTC

Okay, so I just watched a video. The VG6 does have a bit more flash coming out the front of the device. The A2 does not eliminate all flash either though. But the A2 does have slightly better flash suppression.

2020-05-07 18:55:17 UTC

I wish suppressors were legal in Minnesota ☹️

2020-05-07 19:00:49 UTC

Wait, they're not? That's communism!

2020-05-07 19:01:18 UTC

Also, I'm absolutely not telling you to buy oil filters. But sometimes those cars need new oil filters.

2020-05-07 19:23:40 UTC

@[CA] SoyBoi magnifiers do have to be zeroed. And un zeroed magnifiers can throw you several MOA. and some of the mounts don’t really work

2020-05-07 19:52:18 UTC

> Also is the barrel and handguard aero, or something that store is claiming as their own?
@Crye_Salesman
The barrel and handguard are not aero, let me get the specs here in a minute or two

2020-05-07 20:31:13 UTC

Eh using my magnifiers I never had any issues . All I did was zero my red dot and toss a magnifier on and it was fine

2020-05-07 20:54:12 UTC

What magnifier/red dot combo would y'all recommend? Not against trying something new.

2020-05-07 20:57:03 UTC

Depends on your budget? If you want cost efficient, AT3 makes a combo for like 200-300 I think? It's been alright for me. If you don't care about price, can't go wrong with EO Tech

2020-05-07 20:57:52 UTC

> Eh using my magnifiers I never had any issues . All I did was zero my red dot and toss a magnifier on and it was fine
@TacticalBeard that’s gonna be a naw Chief. Chuck p and Aaron Cowan would disagree

2020-05-07 21:07:10 UTC

Care to link sources ?

2020-05-07 21:14:51 UTC

@Soulraiser the smaller the dot the better so somthing like the 1 MOA dot of the eotech or Leupolds new red dot would be ideal.

I liked the MRO but my astigmatism favored the eotech so I sold the 2MOA MRO. Aimpont is another gold standard red dot but I personally like the wide objective lense of the MRO way more than the aimpoints
