At 300-600, it'll do a hell of a lot more damage than 556

2020-05-22 22:59:35 UTC

@Tagout1221 my advice is to get a 12-18” fighting rifle (like a solgw, Sionics, bcm) and a decent LPVO, like a 1-6 razor, 1-8 Trijicon, etc. Run 77gr match ammo, and you’ll have a 600m gun all day that’s still a fighting rifle.

Long range guns are pretty specialized. People who run them professionally often times will have them packed away in a bag, and carry their carbine until they're in place.

2020-05-22 23:03:33 UTC

You don’t want your primary to be a 20+lb precision gun with a 5-25.
What you seem to be looking for is the recce rifle concept

2020-05-22 23:12:58 UTC

Throw something like a trijicon or nf 1-6 / 1-8 on top and you've got one hell of a rifle

2020-05-23 01:04:42 UTC

Don’t skimp on your optic if you want a recce

2020-05-23 01:17:56 UTC

If you can't have less than a 2 cm spread out to 900 yds with irons, you're not a true marksman...

2020-05-23 01:18:55 UTC

havent tried it yet I'm probably not going to be able to do that at first lol

2020-05-23 01:22:27 UTC

Cheapest optics I'd say are okay to get are from Primary Arms

2020-05-23 01:23:39 UTC

Yes but not their cheapest

2020-05-23 01:23:47 UTC

Whatever the step up is

2020-05-23 01:30:46 UTC

For a recce I'd say try their 1-8 Raptor with the ACSS, GarandThumb did a video on it

2020-05-23 01:36:33 UTC

For EDC I'd say minum of 60 rounds for a pistol. That's my bare minimum when I'm doing armed security. Other guys will only carry one spare magazine I will carry at least 3 spares

2020-05-23 01:38:16 UTC

For a rifle as a dmr I'd carry at least 160+ rounds depending upon what calibre and the intended job. For a standard semi auto rifle I'd carry bare minimum 8+ mags

2020-05-23 01:38:31 UTC

I don't carry much for regular edc. My m&p shield with 7+1, or if I'm somewhere I don't want to be, my vp9 and an extra mag. All concealed carry and loaded with federal hst

2020-05-23 01:39:27 UTC

Not bad. I just prefer have the extra ammo just incase. Once the lead starts flying you'd be surprised how quickly you can shoot through ammo especially when shitting your pants lol

2020-05-23 01:41:26 UTC

My first line of defense is avoiding confrontation. No one gets too close to me, and if someone's acting aggressively, I've got pepper spray in my hand, shaking it right there in front of them. It doesn't need to be shaken, but I've yet to come across someone who wants to get any closer to me when they see it.

2020-05-23 01:42:06 UTC

Yep the best self defence is using your mind and your words to avoid or to de escalate a situation

2020-05-23 01:42:37 UTC

Working security I do a lot of de escalation lol

2020-05-23 01:42:57 UTC

I haven't encountered one yet, but if they see it, bring their arms up and roll out of the way, that's when I get ready to pull my gun because I know they've been hooked up with it before

2020-05-23 01:43:21 UTC

at least that's what I was told by a guy who worked with violent criminals

2020-05-23 01:43:30 UTC

to watch out for the ones who duck and roll

2020-05-23 01:43:43 UTC

I’m a fan of 2 extra mags for my handgun if I can help it

2020-05-23 01:44:07 UTC

I usually roll with my 3913 and two mags

2020-05-23 01:44:29 UTC

But I’m also in a tiny Wi town, probably never need it

2020-05-23 01:45:25 UTC

Yeah in Canada I can open carry my antique revolver in the bush so I'd carry around 36 rounds in my pistol belt

2020-05-23 01:46:49 UTC

Modern pistols require an ATC an authorize to carry which is open to the public but rarely granted its mainly for armed security personnel

2020-05-23 01:47:45 UTC

I think there is maybe 300 civilians in Canada who have an ATC and are not security personnel or police etc

2020-05-23 01:48:19 UTC

I have an ATC but only for work outside of work it's not valid

2020-05-23 01:50:27 UTC

Which is gay or love to be able to carry when I go to shitholes like Toronto

2020-05-23 01:54:04 UTC

Yeah, I appreciate being able to carry at least around here without jumping through stupid hoops

2020-05-23 02:13:52 UTC

Just placed an order for a Hodge 12.5" barrel, 15% off for memorial day

2020-05-23 02:15:11 UTC

Yep cuckanada is pretty lame for self defence

2020-05-23 02:16:33 UTC

Canadian gubbament would probably freak with my edc knife being an auto

2020-05-23 02:21:28 UTC

Lmao yeah no spring assist knives allowed. In Canada you actually cant carry anything with the purpose of self defence if you carry a knife you have to tell the police officer it's a work knife or something like that same with pepper spray you can only carry bear and dog mace for defence against wildlife and that can be subject to interpretation lol a good lawyer will tell you to keep a bat and a glove and a ball in your car so you have a reason to be driving with one if you use it in a self defence situation. Same thing applies in your home and at all times force can only be met with equal force and you are to retreat into your home until you a cornered and then you might be able to use lethal force but be prepared for a lengthy court process and possible bankruptcy unless you plea bargain and accept a lesser charge to get out of manslaughter or murder lol

2020-05-23 02:29:40 UTC

Yeah, so tactically styled knifes are a huge no no for you

2020-05-23 02:30:08 UTC

I mean shit, when I was into airsoft even your laws on that sucked

2020-05-23 02:51:39 UTC

Just spring assisted knives and butterfly knives shit like that is a no no. My EDC knife is an AK47 bayonet

2020-05-23 02:52:18 UTC

Iys a good knife to begin with and has a built in wire cutter when paired with the sheath

2020-05-23 02:53:11 UTC

Or I carry a Canadian Tire cheapo fixed blade with a 5 inch or so blade
