Swiss software is amazing because they don’t like the US.
ProtonVPN and NordVPN are rock solid. I use Private Internet Access, but I believe they're US based. It still keeps me from getting angry copyright infringement letters though.
VPN does not protect you from government surveillance. It does hide your network traffic from your ISP.
VPN shouldn’t be your entire ass security plan, but it’s a helpful measure
Anything that increases the workload for fedbois is good.
Fedbois are on your motherboard
Checking in. How’s everyone?
Pretty good just ate lunch how about yourself
One good thing that helps (If you can do it) is making your router unpingable.
And yes, Fedbois are in your motherboard.
@Reno Do you have the write-up on that?
What about imported PCs?
They in all the computers overseas?
Intel Management Engine, AMD PSP, Intel WLAN chip with proprietary firmware, Windows itself is full of backdoors, etc.
Yes, they are balls deep in most of our hardware.
Did you have that write-up from forever ago saved?
It's crazy.
. . . All input and output of modern computers and cell phones is being recorded and monitored by federal governments, international intelligence communities, and other actors. Nothing that you do on or near these platforms can be considered safe from their eyes or ears, because even if you are using secure software, the hardware itself is often working against you.
For example, the Intel Management Engine is a separate computer that runs within modern (post-2008) Intel machines. It runs even when the system is powered off, and has access to everything on the system. Keystrokes, network traffic and hardware, everything. Because the Intel ME is part of the hardware, and removing this hardware actually disables the computer, there is no way around it. AMD has something similar called PSP. . .
From the guy I sent that write-up to who is tech-savvy as well:
old cpus dont have it tho, and arm cpus dont either, librebooting is a way to get rid of it on older systems, and this is why in dont have a phone, but there is also a tradeoff its harder to monitor IME than it is to monitor discord it would take insane resources to constatnly monitor everyone with IME, so im sure they don, but targetedly, sure, however IME can read memory and send whatever but it has to catch you in the act, while discortd for example has logs, and that is the diffrence, so logging is the really dangerous one, yes it is possible to get out of line access to memory with IME but it requires individula attention and there is no backlog
With the budget they have, and the backdoors, if you are on some kind of list it's not outlandish to think that they would use ime to spy on you.
Of course, that’s if you get on a list in the first place.
oh boy
VPNs are very easy tp bypass if youre the federal gov
youll almost never not be tracked someway somehow so if you really wanna not be tracked get a virtual machine use duckduckgo or tor browser, and have everything on 1 hard drive you can throw in a microwave
also never post pictures you took with your phone or snapchat bc idk if yall know this but theres programs out there that you can just put the image in and it tells you the metadata which says your exact location
some guy i know saved pictures from peoples facebook where their "secret" fishing spot was and then used the program to find out where it was
Imagine not knowing how to disable or bypass metadata on a photo
Or imagine posting pics of your "secret" fishing spot. Dumbass😂
*people dont even know what metadata is*
*it's data that flows thru a system of tubes*
In my best old Alaskan Senator Ted Stevens voice😂
Thats some top shelf humor right there gentlemen
Got my Mission Darkness Farady Bag in today. Got it for work, but in case anyone is curious, it blocked all signals from getting to/from my phone. Good if you're trying to stay dark but don't wanna turn your phone off in case you need to be able to access it without turning it back on.
Nice, yea i was looking into getting one myself
If you're that worried about being monitored through your computer, build a raspberry pi with a linux variant and use it for comms and secure storage.
Ooh. I forgot about raspberry pi. Those suckers are cool.
Me: I hope I don't do anything that gets me tracked.
Government:
Is raspberry pi 2 still good to go then?
I would assume not. But just because they aren't watertight doesn't mean they aren't good.
