When I was a kid, I was a massive comics nerd. Loved comics, still have a stack taller than I am in my closet. My favorite was always the punisher. Before I went broke I had tons of merch and rare comics featuring the punisher (even had his first appearence)

Would it still be cringe for me to spray paint a punisher skull on my gear?
