2020-05-09 01:21:01 UTC

what are you guys arguing about

2020-05-09 01:21:43 UTC

@Jon true

2020-05-09 01:21:50 UTC

LOL

2020-05-09 01:21:53 UTC

oh man

2020-05-09 01:21:57 UTC

that was ***dark***

2020-05-09 01:22:14 UTC

that was dark even by my fucking standards

2020-05-09 01:22:29 UTC

@Crye_Salesman Fair enough, as Americans, it’s anyone’s right to not be forced to believe in God and to live their life as long as they aren’t harming or infringing on others.

2020-05-09 01:22:29 UTC

Oh man what did I miss in there

2020-05-09 01:22:35 UTC

The question was on the separation of church and state and the religious subtext in the constitution

2020-05-09 01:22:54 UTC

church and state should ***always*** be separated

2020-05-09 01:23:04 UTC

I mean I would like to clarify @Karlow Alderam, that this is a philosophical discussion, I have no problem with people of any religion, I just like to debate

2020-05-09 01:23:13 UTC

My bad. Ive got terribly dark humor. And unfortunate experience in that. Not from church but personally non the less

2020-05-09 01:23:20 UTC

@minorthreat but does that negate the declaration of rights all bc it mentioned God?

2020-05-09 01:23:48 UTC

Eh I think we could chop that up to period, and just replace it with natural rights?

2020-05-09 01:24:09 UTC

You have the rights you're willing to take and defend

2020-05-09 01:24:35 UTC

well technically

2020-05-09 01:24:35 UTC

I don't care if God says you can or can't rape my kids. I said you can't, and I have a gun

2020-05-09 01:24:40 UTC

@Karlow Alderam that was my question

2020-05-09 01:24:44 UTC

the constitution doesn't mention God specifically does it? it just says the creator

2020-05-09 01:25:14 UTC

True

2020-05-09 01:25:15 UTC

@Crye_Salesman I don’t mind discussions either bro man. We as Americans are at least called to be moral men, with balls of steel, who will go above and beyond to secure freedom and prosperity for our nation and their peoples.

2020-05-09 01:25:23 UTC

@Bender the founders mentioned Providence and the creator, specifically avoided God

2020-05-09 01:25:32 UTC

To avoid alienation

2020-05-09 01:25:38 UTC

"peoples", that's a third rail lol

2020-05-09 01:25:42 UTC

founding fathers were fucking BASED

2020-05-09 01:25:44 UTC

I’m not religious I just enjoy the discussion with level headed people

2020-05-09 01:25:48 UTC

except for the owning slaves part

2020-05-09 01:25:51 UTC

i dont like that part

2020-05-09 01:25:58 UTC

but other than that they were based as fuck

2020-05-09 01:26:08 UTC

Did They Really Though

2020-05-09 01:26:14 UTC

yes they did

2020-05-09 01:26:14 UTC

Not all were fans of slavery

2020-05-09 01:26:33 UTC

but they can be wrong about *that* and be right about everything else

2020-05-09 01:26:54 UTC

There were people who almost refused to sign the constitution because slavery wasn’t ended then

2020-05-09 01:26:56 UTC

Fisher Ames was right about stuff too

2020-05-09 01:27:10 UTC

The founders were a coalition of different people with different backgrounds and different beliefs

2020-05-09 01:27:23 UTC

The British could have tried to get them to argue religion and race and politics but nope

2020-05-09 01:27:30 UTC

It was burgertime

2020-05-09 01:27:40 UTC

@Bender I don’t think all the founders owned slaves, did they? That took money and enough land to justify the purchase. Maybe some of them did, but that’s just the way it was, this is one example of how tradition can be reprehensible.
