And we should attempt to contact the family. See if we can offer any sort of assistance. Be it just vocal support or standing guard at gheir homes if they feel unsafe. And actually do so in a respectful way(inconspicuous dress, not full out Hawaii and kit) or even security/numbers/organization for protests at the local precinct.

I don't say it racism based solely on the bf being charged. I think the racism comes into play in the lack of accountability from the pd, even the lack of acknowledged wrong doing in the raid itself. Id be willing to bet that some racist thought went into the "well, we killed this black lady, but if we just charge the guy with attempted murder of a cop, no one will ask any questions and we can totally get away with it." And hes being punished for that. Because when the cops break into your home in the middle of the night, you need to know that its not ok to defend yourself.
