that's part of the problem
the 'balanced scales' metaphor is very bad in most social cases
I think you're a bot that is programmed to disagree with everything I say
it mistakes a complex system for an ordered system, which very few social systems are
the earth is spherical in shape
DOES NOT COMPUTE
Hey it’s shot here
GG @I/IgnoreReality, you just advanced to level 1!
No the earth is more of a spherical orb
“Spherical in shape” is merely the wording a simpleton would use
not sophisticated enough?
Of course
these guys wrote a book on what i said above
That’s my clone ^
Don’t listen to my clone
when people don't understand how complex systems work, it's almost impossible to talk to them about social systems, public policy, etc
I’m shot @qwasi the f you saying mate
they try to take an individual-based scenario and apply it society wide, that does not work
Stfu bitch boi
that government is complex?
I mean...
I would never tell myself to stfu
After all I am shot
Fuck yummy add
you said "equilibrium we passed", etc, the very idea such a thing existed/exists is part of the problem
Fuck my ass *
Stupid autocorrect
'complex' in this case does not mean complicated or 'having many parts'
so are you arguing we should give the government unlimited power?
That's also not what it means
is that what you're saying?
if it's not, then there is some "imaginary line" where the people have a certain amount of power and the government has a certain amount, that we should strive to find and uphold
and giving the government more power than it needs to do what we want it to is a terrible idea
there is no line to cross. the systems we design have to be adaptive
that metaphor is broken
yes adapt, wow so intellectual
a line that moves then
is that better
the people can have way more rights and privacy than they have now AND the government can get more done, they are not necessarily in conflict
