So you want to talk about rhetoric instead of policy now?
This is the first article I found on the timeline, I couldn't view it all because my hands are tied tight noe
Now
I can link articles of democrats downplaying it too.
Although, I don’t care - since he implemented policies too.
What he was doing is trying to calm people and the markets.
Italy and Spain are dealing with the virus way worse than most European countries, try not to include them.
Why not?
Because of many factors, most important one is being that even today, most people there don't give a crap yet, not taking it as serious as it should be
Those countries have messed up, yes. No reason not to include them, however even if you exclude such countries the US is less than most countries in terms of deaths.
If anything Trump has actually responded very well, I think he has.
I can list many policies why; infact I did above.
This is not with any surprise either, America was the most prepared country for this pandemic
I'll read it when I get home
The site has stated that Trump never cut funds to the CDC, which is a lie.
He proposed to cut funds back in february, but the request never passed trough Congress.
It was the Congress that provided CDC with everything they needed. Not because of Trump.
I would agree that the U.S dealt with the pandemic early on, but you're in the wrong when you put all credit to Trump.
And don't forget, this channel is primarily about Trump, whom both of us side-tracked from and went on to general politics.
It is my belief wholeheartedly that some current presidential candidates (besides Joe) could've handled it much more efficiently.
As for the claim "Trump tried to calm the public and the market."
That is not how one could deal with this pandemic. Fear IS needed. If one is not affraid of the virus, he is in much more danger to contract it and, quite possibly, die.
Mass-panic, on the other hand, would not help anyone.
donald trump is a leng cunt styll
If Trump had stated, at least once, that people should be affraid of this virus, it would've been taken a lot more seriously, a LOT faster
But what did people do instead, because Trump didn't adress the seriousness of it early on?
I'll just take the example of that notorious Miami Beach party. Which has happened just a couple of weeks ago
But DiSantis doing a “great job”. Trump decision tree 1) are you Republican? 2) Are you loyal to Trump? These can be reversed by the way or #1 eliminated completely cuz he only wants loyalty.
@Dukatelo That's wrong
Trump *has not* cut funds to the CDC.
> That is not how one could deal with this pandemic. Fear IS needed. If one is not affraid of the virus, he is in much more danger to contract it and, quite possibly, die.
Disagree, I'm not giving Trump all credit. I'm giving him credit where it's due, he's done his part very well I would say. The US overall has done pretty good at the response.
We don't need people panicing, it's the last thing we need in emergencies.
Follow the guidelines, don't panic and be safe.
> Like Bernie...
Bernie didn't even want to ban travel lol
Same with probably Joe, he would have done it later on.
> We don't need people panicing, it's the last thing we need in emergencies.
@sɪᴅɪsɴᴏᴛʜᴇʀᴇ I never said panic, I said 'fear'.
People fear it, nothing changed from Trump's words. All he tried to do is reassure people thing would be fine, there is no reason to panic. Didn't work so well, but it did it's fair part.
__**TRUMP 2020**__
Quick interjection, the US is flattening the curve in pretty much everywhere that isn't NY. Seems our response is working after all.
Update; oil soared this week in the market. I'm thinking it's being priced in because of the thought of this pandemic reaching the peak and the "light can be seen at the end of the tunnel". So yeah, what we talked about last week seemed to have no direct negative impact on oil shares. @Cobra Commander
