I mean a majority of this the political generation agrees, on behalf not much.

2020-04-13 13:31:36 UTC

The president's behavior has changed throughout history multiple times. Before modern times the president wouldn't hold speeches, they would write their policies in paper instead and then Teddy Roosevelt changed that. I have a feeling that Trump is changing the president's role into being a thug and a bully which is deeply concerning.

The conservatives are right when they say Trump hasn't truly done much "wrong" during his presidency. The true problem is that he *abuses* the power that he is allowed to use in order to maintain the publics approval.

2020-04-13 13:37:43 UTC

Whether you think it is right or wrong to abuse political power is subjective.

@Festive Spaghetti Like?

2020-04-13 17:44:30 UTC

In the impeachment context, abuse of power is generally defined as using the vast powers of the presidency for personal benefit.

2020-04-13 17:45:15 UTC

He stonewalled the impeachment trials and orderded witnesses to ignore the court's subpoenas.

2020-04-13 17:46:37 UTC

I don't care what the impeachment trial was about, if someone is trying to censor people from telling the truth, then they are probably guilty

Executive privilege @Festive Spaghetti

2020-04-13 17:55:51 UTC

AKA a monarchy

2020-04-13 17:56:18 UTC

That's not monarchist.... It's executive privilege.

2020-04-13 17:56:27 UTC

This cannot be abuse of power, it's legal.

2020-04-13 19:26:59 UTC

Why on earth did you go to monarchy specifically?

2020-04-13 19:28:17 UTC

Essay incoming

2020-04-13 19:30:08 UTC

It's like you just threw out a random buzzword for a more authoritarian government with little knowledge on how the US government actually works and on what actually happened with his impeachment.

2020-04-13 19:30:57 UTC

The ignorance on this subject is always just staggering to me.

2020-04-13 19:34:43 UTC

Shouldn’t be staggering the more you encounter it, so that’s entirely on you.

2020-04-13 19:34:49 UTC

Womp

2020-04-13 19:35:24 UTC

I mean I'd argue it's *more* so if you keep encountering it even now, especially if it's with the same people you've explained this too before

2020-04-13 19:35:44 UTC

Generally speaking, I haven't talked to Spaghetti about this before.
