2019-10-07 23:28:12 UTC

GG @Otto, you just advanced to level 20!

2019-10-07 23:28:16 UTC

@fuck12moredeadcops You know what the Euthyphro dilemma is right?

2019-10-07 23:28:22 UTC

Fam

2019-10-07 23:28:43 UTC

Only Arsenal fans say fam

2019-10-07 23:28:43 UTC

Your just stating theories out of the philosophy of Logic.

2019-10-07 23:28:46 UTC

ewwww

2019-10-07 23:29:19 UTC

>you do not need to trust the agent for the agent to be existent

I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about how skeptical theism would entail one to not be able to trust God, which puts the theist in a dilemma since God may possibly lie, and therefore wouldn't be the God of classical theism

2019-10-07 23:29:48 UTC

God deceives in Abrahamic mythology though

2019-10-07 23:30:12 UTC

P1) If God is necessarily morally perfect, then there is no possible world in which He actualizes E.
P2) If God is omnipotent, He has the power to actualize E.
P3) If God has the power to actualize E, then there is a possible world
in which God actualizes E.

2019-10-07 23:30:14 UTC

He betrays the trust of the pious on numerous occasions to test them, why could God not lie to me?

2019-10-07 23:30:18 UTC

Then clearly the Abrahamic God cannot be classed as God.

2019-10-07 23:30:20 UTC

Then that means evil would not exist.

2019-10-07 23:30:25 UTC

Because he lies?

2019-10-07 23:30:35 UTC

Indeed

2019-10-07 23:30:43 UTC

Why is that impossible for a God to do?

2019-10-07 23:30:54 UTC

Because it goes against the nature of God.

2019-10-07 23:30:55 UTC

Also thats what you posted from edward fraeser not thomas aquinas.

2019-10-07 23:31:09 UTC

Why would the nature of God be one where he never deceives

2019-10-07 23:31:13 UTC

@!GoldenKingship! it's a defeater for thomism

2019-10-07 23:31:20 UTC

Literally why would that be a necessary quality of a supreme being

2019-10-07 23:31:37 UTC

@fuck12moredeadcops To fit moral perfection, which is key in classical theism.

2019-10-07 23:31:40 UTC

Because there is no greater than God

2019-10-07 23:31:53 UTC

You are over-concluded on edwards refined proofs of aquinas lol.

2019-10-07 23:32:00 UTC

Why do you think theists argue for moral perfection lol.

2019-10-07 23:32:13 UTC

Because its not!

2019-10-07 23:32:20 UTC

King shutup

2019-10-07 23:32:24 UTC

I'm talking to someone else.

2019-10-07 23:32:33 UTC

You conceded ages ago.

2019-10-07 23:32:37 UTC

You have nothing valuable to say.

2019-10-07 23:32:39 UTC

Niv=ce to see you ran

2019-10-07 23:33:00 UTC

Nah, it's just that you're retarded and can't defend your faith properly.

2019-10-07 23:33:12 UTC

Oh am i?

2019-10-07 23:33:16 UTC

Yeah.

2019-10-07 23:33:18 UTC

Retard.

2019-10-07 23:33:18 UTC

This is by the standard of human moral perfection, Allah doesn’t have a similar moral code. He could lie, steal, and cheat, and it would still be moral actions definitionally. He creates morality and is from where morality is understood. We can not fathom why God might lie unless he reveals why he is lying, and we cannot fully know Gods plan, you need only put faith in the fact that it is a good plan.

2019-10-07 23:33:25 UTC

Are you expressing a reflection of yourself though?

2019-10-07 23:33:48 UTC

Then that morality is arbitrary on God, meaning morals would be subjective.

2019-10-07 23:33:57 UTC

You've bitten the second horn of the Euthyphro dilemma.

2019-10-07 23:33:58 UTC

I think God is fully capable of lying and myth has many examples of him lying intentionally

2019-10-07 23:34:07 UTC

To God his morals are subjective
