The fact it, there is no large conspiracy to pay women less. If a company could get away with hiring only women who did their work just as well as the men but pay them less, every major company would be heavily female.

It's simple economics. Companies have to be profitable, so anything to increase those profit margins can and will be done.

The wage gap has been debunked many times

2019-05-19 11:00:17 UTC

The problem with the wage gap is that it's misleading

2019-05-19 11:00:27 UTC

It doesn't factor in many different things

2019-05-19 11:10:52 UTC

why ignore

2019-05-19 11:10:58 UTC

we should read

2019-05-19 11:12:13 UTC

sure but those aren't the ones im talking abt

2019-05-19 11:14:54 UTC

Yea Iā€™m reading that and thinking a lot of it is unsubstantiated and opinion based. Also that stats they use are manipulated to reach a conclusion that is false.

2019-05-19 11:15:13 UTC

Basically woman have never had it easier

2019-05-19 11:15:19 UTC

Change my mind

2019-05-19 11:15:44 UTC

number 7 is wrong

2019-05-19 11:15:44 UTC

GG @Biggser, you just advanced to level 3!

2019-05-19 11:16:00 UTC

9 is wrong

2019-05-19 11:16:22 UTC

10 is correct, but there are more men homeless than women

2019-05-19 11:16:26 UTC

so it should just be ignored

2019-05-19 11:16:32 UTC

11 is wrong

2019-05-19 11:16:45 UTC

uh 12 is wrong

2019-05-19 11:17:02 UTC

and 1 is not an issue

2019-05-19 11:17:55 UTC

@ashnaa you're reading left-biased articles that should not be taken seriously

2019-05-19 11:21:42 UTC

Back in Victorian times, when women did have lower pay, only women were hired in many jobs

2019-05-19 11:21:49 UTC

So why does that not happen now?

2019-05-19 11:23:35 UTC

Because glass ceiling and patriarchy <:ree:356316447548375070> screeching

2019-05-19 11:53:44 UTC

Women don't have lower pay for the same jobs that's a myth

2019-05-19 11:54:09 UTC

But there is a difference in average wages between men and women

2019-05-19 11:54:44 UTC

And imo that's mostly just a relic of the patriarchal society we had in the past and will sort itself out in the next 10 or so years

2019-05-19 11:55:28 UTC

As for stuff like maternity leave imo there should be a certain amount of paid parental leave available to a couple and whichever wants to take that leave can whether it's the mother or the father

2019-05-19 11:56:04 UTC

That'd both stop descrimination against men in paternity leave being shorter than maternity leave

2019-05-19 11:57:12 UTC

And that along with a shift in societal norms towards both parents taking part in the initial care of a child would stop that from affecting job prospects and pay of women more than it affects men

2019-05-19 14:11:33 UTC

Obviously there is a difference between what men and women earn on average, because men and women are different. Equal, but they generally have different goals and ambition. If a woman doesn't enter a stem field on her own free will, but a man does, you cannot fairly compare their wages and go "See? Here's evidence of a patriarchal society!" and vice versa. @The Lemon

2019-05-19 14:39:26 UTC

I'm saying the opposite though

2019-05-19 14:39:34 UTC

We don't have a patriarchal society anymore

2019-05-19 14:39:51 UTC

there are 3 genders'

2019-05-19 14:39:52 UTC

Women under 21 actually earn marginally more than men under 21

2019-05-19 14:40:12 UTC

male female retard

2019-05-19 14:40:28 UTC

*dab*

2019-05-19 14:41:56 UTC
