One thing i heard & learned today from an economist who claims that he isnt the kind to lie to the people 'there's so many factors that contribute to one event in history & you cant just single handedly point out one factor out of every other possible factor and say that A happened because of B'. Maybe in the case of a scientific occurrence, yes we can definitively come to a conclusion that A happen because of B as long as such hypothesis is able to stand until proved otherwise, but when it comes to events in real life, literally a lot of factor needs to be considered.
