The protection orders are a hugely underestimated issue.
They are already a huge source of judicial abuse.
These are rubber stamped en masse.
It has already been a huge source for violence, because it can often lead to loss of job or restriction of many job opportunities, with very low evidentiary bars. He said, she said is basically enough to surpass the bar of "preponderance of evidence".
I believe that the left will step up handing out such orders to perform targeted disarmaments.
Well...the Nazis did that in the Weimar Republic...
"and require individuals to report lost or stolen firearms to law enforcement. implying they aren't already?"
I recently read regarding such, @taekahn:

Unfortunately, that statistic only concerns stolen firearms used in crimes.
Creating a statistic for how many lost & stolen firearms aren't reported to law-enforcement sounds tricky. Regardless of that statistic, forcing gun-owners to report lost or stolen firearms to the state seems asinine.
Currently they're taking the firearms protection shit seriously
But I'm just waiting for it to become lax in CA
If my /employer/ or people who don't know me personally can get one of those "Restraining orders" as they're declared in CA, it'll be a shitshow
@Miss Direction they happen to give a time frame between gun being stolen and the police finding them?
because if a gun was stolen, only to be used then recovered by police in like a 24h time period, then its understandable why they might not be reported. OR if they are stolen while the owner is not around, given that thieves typically wait until owners are gone.
No, @Grenade123: the article offers no time-frame, but the study examined all traces in 2008 (as mentioned in the article). Though, I doubt nearly all of those instances occurred within 24 hours of the firearm’s theft.
it would be an important statistic
If it exists, yes.
since included in that 40% is also relatives and friends who have taken someones gun then go right to committing a crime i imagine.

Yes, anyone who steals a gun & commits a crime with it (& the owner didn’t report the firearm missing) is included, @Grenade123. ;P
Are there any rifles that fire .357 Mag that aren’t lever-action?
Apparently, Ruger sells one:

Why aren't there any modern Lever Action Guns?
OH and by the way, that is the most important video today:

I play the Bot for the other Firearm Channels I have subscribed to.
Fun story
Something I didn't know until now, was how diverse the options for caliber are for AR-15
One gun can fire all of these.
So long as it has an upper assembly to shoot them
OH, also, you can get a crossbow adapter AND multiple air rifle adapters.
And then there's also the AR10 and soda/beer can launcher adapters
AR-10 Patterns have been chambered in just about anything that fits in a 7.62 by 51 magazine at this point
