Nice
It really do be like that

I'd post my political results screenshots but i dont have image privileges lol
On political compass i'm left 2.25 and libertarian 4.56
On 8values im 56.7% equality in economy(centrist), 53.7% world in diplomacy(balanced), 73.1% liberty in civil(liberal), and 71.1% progress in society(progressive)
Overall match is social libertarianism
The most fun gun i've shot is my mosin nagant carbine
People like to shit on mosins but i really enjoy shooting mine
@Bookworm
1. Why do you want a gun(what's the purpose you'll be using it for)
2. What is your budget
3. What state do you live in
4. What is your age
Ok so seeing you live in Colorado there is one weird limitation you have, you can't have magazines that hold more than 15 rounds statewide, or 10 in boulder. The statewide limit isn't really enforced outside of boulder and you can buy "high capacity" magazine build kits which are just a disassembled magazine you can put together in a lot of gun shops from what i've heard.
A .22lr gun is pretty ideal as a first gun to train the fundamentals on due to its low recoil and cost, but you want a self defense gun, and .22lr is not ideal for that. It's pretty small(still lethal) but it's a rimfire round, which means the reliability isn't as good as a centerfire round.
You did talk about long guns vs handguns and for someone learning how to shoot guns a long gun is ideal to start on. They have less recoil, are more accurate, and are easier to control in general due to their size.
A shotgun works for home defense and is cheap, but they're not good for range shooting unless you're using slug rounds, which are expensive(50 cents a round or so). A rifle would probably be more ideal, AR15s are affordable and pistol caliber carbines like the hi point or the ruger PCC are good as well.
A mossberg maverick 88(pump shotgun) can be had for about $200 while an AR15 or Ruger PCC would cost about $400-500, the hi point carbine is $300ish
Also if you're considering an AR there are 3 good budget choices
1. Cheapest option, Palmetto State Armory
2. Smith and Wesson M&P15
3. Ruger AR556
There's also the Ruger MPR which costs about $600 but also requires you to add an optic which can cost about $100 for a decent one, that's a step up from the budget tier
/r/gundeals is a good subreddit for finding deals and calculating how much guns are worth in general
gun.deals exists too
The cheapest way to buy guns is usually online, how it works is the place ships the gun to a gun shop and the gun shop will do the transfer to you for a small fee(usually$20-40)
What do you mean lol
I can get buying an AR in fear of another AWB happening but buying a specific model because one guy used it in a shooting is a bit weird
Above all, ARs are cheap
The AWB made them popular, economy of scale drove prices down
Blue states in general don't tend to like them much, the AR15 is the gun controller's boogeyman
FUAC
Massachusetts bans the AR by name, even if you put grip fins and other stuff on you cant own one unless its a preban
Is that yugo sks yours?
Lol @Khanclansith
The AR would suck as a manual action gun wouldnt it, though
The charging handle's in an awkward position and it's a bit hard to pull back
Lol
Last time i went to the range i shot a friend's albanian sks, i liked it
Much softer to shoot than an ak and skses have an aesthetic to them
I want to buy a russian sks at some point
SKS shoots 7.62x39, it's an intermediate cartridge and the SKS itself is a fairly heavy rifle so recoil isn't too bad
7.62x54r has a lot more kick to it
I like the kick on a mosin though
Since mine is a carbine it makes a fireball every time i shoot it
Closer to nato
Thats a big range
On what gun? You can shoot much further than 100 on irons
The outdoor range near me(2 hour drive sadly) is 100m but they're building a 600m range and that should be ready in the spring
I have an indoor range 30 mins away that goes up to 100m but they cost more, especially if you don't have a membership
When i start my job i'll probably get a membership for them, i want to buy a CMP M1 garand too
SKS is fun, fuck import bans
Canadians get them for $200-300 cad
Damn he overpaid then unless it was never fired
You can buy a russian one in good condition for that
Yugo SKSes are the most recently manufactured ones out of the 3 most popular sks types(russian, chinese, yugo)
Probably covered in cosmoline for long term storage
Lol some genius in my area is trying to sell their "tactical" chinese sks for $600
I just dont see the point in owning sub guns
You need to have an inferior brace due to sbr laws and it's stuck in semi auto
One time i was at an airport and i saw two cops with MP5s, pissed me off
Fuck the nfa and hughes amendment
Cool
spam is a serious problem though, allowing any kind of speech at all is a bad idea but i agree with the general idea
i think the ultimate issue is the payment processors, you can make your own platform but if they payment processors dont like you you're fucked no matter what
>Like tim has like 100 videos about sjws so itll be nice for him to do something else
lol basically
It is low hanging fruit though and they've been real censorship happy lately so its worthy of note
@Khanclansith glock 20 or 40?
>Niaโs identity as a trans woman is part of her origin story, adds executive producer Jessica Queller, and is connected to โwhy and how sheโs inherited these powers.โ As with Kara in Season 1, she will have to come to terms with her power.
>Nia's role as a journalist is important, too, as "Supergirl" is "hoping to portray the press as heroic," Queller says.
The SKS was a russian design and it had a bayonet
Though the chinese skses did move away from a blade bayonet to a spiker
So apparently in NJ they changed the magazine limit in the state from 15 to 10 and you have to destroy any 11+ round magazines you own or you're committing a felony by possessing the magazine, it has been upheld at the lower court level as constitutional too
I find it funny how tim lives in NJ but he's not against further gun control because one fudd he talked to at the range said so
Losing your rights over a 11+ round magazine you legally purchased is bullshit, this is making no one safer
2/3rds of gun deaths are suicides, it's people choosing to take their own lives
Suicide rates are higher in places like s korea and japan and they have extremely strict gun laws, the gun "buyback" that dems love to point at in australia had an insignificant effect on suicide rates
Most gun homicides are gang related as far as i know
Only about 2-3% of gun deaths are accidental
Dems are bending over backwards trying to erode rights over a statistically insignificant issue
Instead of trying to limit what guns or magazines you can own, they could try mental health programs to lower suicide rates, after school programs or internship opportunities to keep kids out of gangs, maybe even have gun education in health class to reduce accidental gun deaths
At least we have this going for us, people are getting fed up with gun control
The more the ar15 is demonized and misrepresented in media the more people will buy them
All democrats need is to stop trying to ban guns, ammo, and gun accessories and they could get a bunch of votes
The republican party is nothing without its single issue voters
Not everyone, but the sunsetting of the 1994 assault weapons ban made the platform very popular
Go to a rifle range and most guns there will probably be ARs or AKs
The most popular class of gun is handguns though
1 in every 5 guns sold is an ar15 iirc
Also several states ban the ar15, it could be more popular than it is now if not for that
The AR15 is a cheap semi automatic rifle chambered in a round that's viable for self defense, has been banned in the past federally and some states right now, and is demonized by the media
Not even that, in the US we have the 2nd amendment
If you are anti gun you either have to somehow limit gun rights without technically infringing upon it or modify/repeal the amendment which is much more difficult than getting activist judges in the courts
Not sure about that particular incident but im not surprised, in countries with strict gun laws there's no reason not to have full auto guns for use in crime
One of the easiest guns to manufacture on your own is an open bolt full auto smg
>shadman
5.56/.223 has limited overpenetration and low recoil
From what i understand about ballistics the 5.56 projectile is so thin and moves so quickly that it tends to tumble when hitting an object, which slows it down and limits overpenetration as a result
It overpenetrates less than handgun rounds or buckshot
"Guys just install street cameras everywhere and participate in a mandatory buyback because australia did it"
Disgusting
Yeah, add "muh mass surveillance" to that list too mimi
We've failed to stand against a lot of bullshit, take a look at current mass surveillance that has been allowed to take place
We should all just shit in public restrooms without privacy doors apparently, privacy still has value even if you have nothing to hide
*insert stonetoss comic about making your own government*
@garonedin CMP garand? Nice. What condition? When I start my new job I want to get one in service grade condition
Cool
CMP sells M1911s too but they cost more than the garands and from what i've heard have had spotty condition
