If anything, I thought they'd just do what they do with Marvel movies, only it's in a Star Wars skin.

2018-04-19 22:16:03 UTC

My prediction was that 7-9 would be pretty good, with 9 probably being weak, and then things would start going downhill by Episode 11.

2018-04-19 22:16:16 UTC

However, while a bit predictable, I didn't think rogue one was all that bad. Don't get me wrong, not short on room to improve, but not terrible

2018-04-19 22:16:18 UTC

But then Disney was like "hold my beer."

2018-04-19 22:16:46 UTC

I would like to have seen the pre-reshoot version of Rogue One.

2018-04-19 22:16:56 UTC

Something tells me that was going to be much more interesting.

2018-04-19 22:17:29 UTC

What was their excuse for the reshoots? It was 'too dark' for the casual audience?

2018-04-19 22:17:37 UTC

Not sure how much darker you can get than "everyone dies."

2018-04-19 22:17:40 UTC

The solo movie has been more or less written off but I'm still curious what it looks like.

2018-04-19 22:18:17 UTC

Oh yeah, I have *zero* hope for the Solo movie.

2018-04-19 22:19:50 UTC

We shall see. If it's like everything else, then no surprise. If, by some miracle, it stays about 7 and 8 in the vague area of rogue one, then there might be some life left in the EU, even if the main story is tanked.

2018-04-19 22:20:23 UTC

I kind of went on a bit of a tyraid on another discord after hearing that they removed the guns/blasters off of the international movie posters.

2018-04-19 22:21:17 UTC

Probably an overreaction, but for some reason it really set me off. lol

2018-04-19 22:21:32 UTC

Because it just reminded me of the whole ET walkie-talkie thing.

2018-04-19 22:22:17 UTC

This is a problem I first really started to notice in halo when 4 came out. If a series is wrapped up with a decent enough ending, the it's best to expand the IP sideways and or back in time. Leaving anything happening after the wrap up event for things like books which usually fair better than visual mediums.

2018-04-19 22:23:01 UTC

Particularly in series that span at least 3 installments.

2018-04-19 22:23:11 UTC

Yeah, or jump forward, but even then if you jump forward enough it is practically a side story.

2018-04-19 22:23:58 UTC

Usually by that time you have so much material that is just sitting around the edges you can just start picking up random pieces and spawning their own story lines and SubIPs.

2018-04-19 22:24:26 UTC

I really miss Halo, but I don't like what it's become.

2018-04-19 22:25:05 UTC

I really hope, if halo survives 6, which to be fair, while not great, the story isn't horrible. But they've had to do some serious leg work in the books to make that happen, but I hope they start expanding outwards.

2018-04-19 22:25:24 UTC

Like there is some much in the halo lore that they could use.

2018-04-19 22:25:47 UTC

It doesn't need to be a "halo" game in the game play sense.

2018-04-19 22:26:02 UTC

Halo wars has been good, I personally loved ODST.

2018-04-19 22:27:14 UTC

A GTA or LA Noire style halo might be interesting

2018-04-19 22:28:37 UTC

ODST was one of my favorite games.

I just had to coach a kid through a damned middle school lesson.

2018-04-20 05:15:11 UTC

Some kid up in New York, 8th grade, English - Language Arts.

2018-04-20 05:15:43 UTC

He's been asked to write an essay on 'Privilege'.

2018-04-20 05:16:11 UTC

Accompanying worksheet:

```Aim; To explore the idea of adversity through the lens of identity and race
Do Now: Add to your vocab list:
Meritocracy: A society/system where people are rewarded based on hard work and achievement.
Merit: Quality or action that deserves reward (or punishment)
What is/are the differences between between Privilege and Merit?
One is earned (merit).
What is it that makes talking about race difficult for white people?
How is racism a “system” and not a scientific quality?
What are your thoughts on the 3rd grade teacher and her students questions?
How has being white shaped the sense of identity for many of these people?
What does it mean to be “colorblind”? How do you feel about it?
What is the privilege that comes with being white?```
2018-04-20 05:18:31 UTC
This video was accompanying the lesson, and referenced in the questions: The 3rd grade teacher, Sense of Identity, and 'Colorblind'.
