They've got a clear opposition to the state, and a clear opposition to capitalism.

2018-08-21 17:36:08 UTC

As per their platform, you can really only define it by their chants and statements - which is nebulous.

and a clear opposition to food

Many of the advocates of Antifa are college graduates

2018-08-21 17:37:25 UTC

Plenty of them are actually teachers and professors.

2018-08-21 17:41:21 UTC

I remember reading about the Nuremburg College protests... Young NAZIs demmanding Jewish Professors be fired so they could be taught by fellow Aryan Professors... sounds like these Persons of Color demanding white professors be fired so they can be taught by Persons of Color perfessors

Since I was a bit short, earlier, I'm going to clarify my stances on Ancap.

Opposition:
I do not believe Anarchic Capitalism can do anything that a well maintained state could not do better, with more stability.
I believe that the apathy towards principles shown within the state, with those principles laid out in law, shows that principles would just as well be lost without law.
As such, I believe any cultural fix to bring about Anarcho-capitalism could be more easily applied to fix the State, if such a fix existed.
Furthermore, I believe the existence of the State within Anarchy implies that Anarchism is a base state (form) of society, in which the State will always form. As such, _any_ attempt at anarchism will ultimately result in a reset of societal progress.

Potential Middle Ground / Agreements:
I do believe that decentralization of vital infrastructure, such as financial institutions, education, and the like, is important.
I do not believe that the State (Federal) as it exists today in the United States is Ideal.
I believe that the smaller the government is, the more likely it is to represent the will of the people.
As such, I believe that who the Governor is, or even who the Mayor is over that, should be more important than who the President is for day to day life.
(edit) Also, yes, the NAP is a good element to have in your philosophical viewpoint, stop asking me that.

Has anyone here read the old cases for the Air Force's Marine Corps?

2018-08-21 18:17:57 UTC

I have reached a similar conclusion about ancap. However, i do not think any system will remain static without tremendous force. More over, any system that is static is often stagnate and often trending towards poor. As such, i think constant shifting to and from the extremes hovering around the balance point is closest to an ideal solution. Much like a blade balanced on your hand will oscillate from one side to the other, so too should society.

2018-08-21 18:19:35 UTC

Bleh. No. That's not a good end goal. Society shouldn't be a fidget spinner.

2018-08-21 18:20:16 UTC

I mean, it's a better alternative than letting one side or the other dictate the rules of society permanently

2018-08-21 18:21:27 UTC

but the Federal Government should be less concerned with sustaining itself and growing itself, and more on protecting individual rights.

2018-08-21 18:21:51 UTC

The role that the National Congress plays should be playing out on a state level instead, where everyone is more well represented.

2018-08-21 18:22:09 UTC

That makes you a radical Fundimentalist Terrorist Hate-monster Rye

I thought the Cookie Monster award was that TWITTER Verfied Socalist Communist propaganda agent marker

2018-08-21 18:44:19 UTC

@RyeNorth there is go good way to know when any given side has gone far enough. We only know when it has gone too far. And to keep it from teetering is to apply force, a very strong force. One precise enough to prevent the natural tremors of your hand inducing this oscillation. Nature does not exist in perfect static balance. It is in constant competition. And when one side is winning, it starts pulling back towards the other side but never stops moving.

Micheal Cohen talk about pleading guilty. What does this mean?

2018-08-21 20:24:33 UTC

Pleading guilty doesn't mean you actually did the crime, just look at black crime statistics

2018-08-21 20:24:39 UTC

*cough cough*

2018-08-21 21:18:56 UTC

@Grenade123 I don't really buy the pendulum theory. I think there's a tendency for one side to stagnate if it holds power too long, but I don't think things actually track backwards in many cases.

2018-08-21 21:40:13 UTC

It doesn't if people don't pull on it, no.

2018-08-21 21:42:40 UTC

But the one side requires force to hold that power

"The statue was funded by the University Alumni and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. It was erected in 1913 as a memorial to the Confederate alumni who lost their lives in the American Civil War and all students who joined the Confederate States Army.[3] More than one thousand members of the university fought in the American Civil War in either the Northern or Southern armies, comprising at least 40% of the student body.[4] The University remained open through the entire war. This was due to University President Swain's policy of dependency on men unfit for combat.[3]A bronze image on the front of the memorial depicts a young student dropping his books as he looks up to answer a call to duty. On the base of the statue, a woman representing the state of North Carolina is depicted calling students to fight for the Southern cause even if it means leaving their studies.[5] The statue was erected to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the beginning of the Civil War (1911).[6]" -Wiki Page for the Silent Sam Statue (sorry for the spam-like size)

2018-08-22 02:31:04 UTC

just wanted to post this hunk because Tim mentioned he didn't know what the statue was suppose to symbolize and yet I also felt weird about just dumping the link to the wiki article.

2018-08-22 04:39:36 UTC

Oh this is where I was suppose to debate. Now I feel bad for debating in general.

2018-08-22 04:42:07 UTC

Its all over the place

2018-08-22 04:42:14 UTC

People debate in the shitposting channel as well

2018-08-22 04:42:28 UTC

LMAO.... are you shitting me? That is hilarious!

2018-08-22 04:43:48 UTC

lel

2018-08-22 06:35:01 UTC

Yeah, and then they sometimes shitpost in debate.

The whole server is kinda a mess of random shitposting and debating. People do tend to stick to the purposes of each channel, but it's not really set in stone.

2018-08-22 06:41:50 UTC

We need more moderators

2018-08-22 06:47:56 UTC

No we don't. More mods means more potential for abuse.

2018-08-22 06:48:08 UTC

Things are messy, but they aren't being *abused*

2018-08-22 06:48:09 UTC
