Don't let rights be dictated by a piece of paper
Yes and I agree, I'm saying a right generally is something that belongs to you as an individual
Yup
Your life, liberty, etc..
Founding fathers identified three
Libery
Life, liberty, property.
Those are root human rights.
But I think you missed my point
Self-defense? Life.
Pretty sure I explained it poorly
Gun ownership? Property.
Healthcare? Life.
The problem with those is that only one of the 3 you could accomplish without tools
Kidnapping deprives liberty, murder deprives life, theft deprives property.
You cant have a gun without purchasing one
Yes.
But you can defend yourself without a gun
You can't have a printing press without buying one either.
I'm gonna side with codes that those are not rights rye, they are something your rights Grant you.
👌
The government does not provide you a means to enjoy your rights.
Yoy have a right to life and property, as such you are entitled to gun ownership
That's the misconception.
Healthcare absolutely is a right.
Gun ownership is not THE right, the right Grant's gun ownership
Property.
The right to own a gun is the right to property.
Well as far as it goes healthcare is a right
But you gotta be careful on how you word it
You should be allowed to go and seek Healthcare in whatever means you can that don't violate a other's right.
The wording isn't the problem
You have the right to it, but that doesnt mean you get it for free
It's semantics at this point. But government does not grant rights.
The problem is how we've let an entitled opposing force redefine the words.
Hmm well I'm only 20 so all I got are those redefined words
In such a way that government should be supplying things that are 'rights'.
I think we're all in agreement on the core things
Constitutional rights are there to protect your natural rights from the government.
But as Grenade says it IS semantics
