dankula would have been fine if he had broadcast the video on tv

2018-03-21 20:58:34 UTC

I'd agree with Falko, it doesn't appear that he was charged with 'Hate Crime'

2018-03-21 20:58:40 UTC

because its not the video that is wrong... its the use of the internet to publish it

2018-03-21 20:59:02 UTC

fair enough,

But my point was that regardless if its a hate crime, or public electronic communications crime

His statement is what he was punished for, and they're getting him on a technicality

2018-03-21 20:59:12 UTC

i did not find what the initial charges where, though

2018-03-21 20:59:45 UTC

I really think that's why they're taking so long to sentence him

2018-03-21 21:00:00 UTC

also i think incitement to violence is a crime in any western country, even America

Saying "I hate negro's" is protected
Saying "Lets burn all the negro's alive and rape their wamen" is incitement to violence

2018-03-21 21:00:06 UTC

they got him on a law that can be used against EVERYONE for saying ANYTHING on the internet

2018-03-21 21:00:54 UTC

They're not sure exactly how to use it punitively.

2018-03-21 21:00:56 UTC

jayred, that example is basically the german hate speech law 😄

2018-03-21 21:01:02 UTC

Have there been instances of people being charged solely with this before?

2018-03-21 21:01:40 UTC

well yes, but thats incitement to violence, its actively trying to use speech to get action against people
as opposed to using speech to challenge/critique an idea

2018-03-21 21:02:09 UTC

i think so, yes

2018-03-21 21:02:15 UTC

but in any case, its a ridiculous law the brits used to make an example of him

2018-03-21 21:02:28 UTC

It's a massive blow to free speech.

2018-03-21 21:02:56 UTC

The concept, not the right. They don't expressly have the right.

2018-03-21 21:03:20 UTC

4 blows in one week if you also consider Lauren Southern, Britney Pettibone and that Generation Identity guy, Martin Selner?, being banned from entering UK

2018-03-21 21:03:22 UTC

the law is so vague that it basically shuts down free speech via the internet in the uk

2018-03-21 21:03:47 UTC

Yeah, all of that happening at once, it's REALLY kind of 1984esque

2018-03-21 21:03:58 UTC

i mean... i was not joking when i said that they can convict you for saying that you dont like tea

2018-03-21 21:04:12 UTC

That does seem pretty outrageous.

2018-03-21 21:04:20 UTC

yeah, so its basically a law that nullifies the concept of free speech

Its become "You can say what you want as long as we agree"

2018-03-21 21:04:47 UTC

That's why Free Speech HAS to include hate speech.

2018-03-21 21:04:56 UTC

Maybe its britains form of 4D chess?

They're doing this to draw massive attention so the laws get removed?

2018-03-21 21:04:58 UTC

sure... it is outreagous... which makes my suggestion grossly offensive... see the problem? 😉

2018-03-21 21:05:26 UTC

Oh, yeah. I saw it. I was very offended by your dislike of tea.

2018-03-21 21:05:41 UTC

I took it

2018-03-21 21:05:43 UTC

VERY

2018-03-21 21:05:44 UTC

personally.

2018-03-21 21:07:02 UTC

Okay: Three things. 1. Define 4D. 2. Define the rules to 4D chess. 3. No.

2018-03-21 21:07:16 UTC

well Free speech has to include hate speech for it to be free speech

saying "I love people that do nice things for other people" doesn't need protection, its opinions and statements people dislike that need protecting

2018-03-21 21:07:28 UTC

i personally think that southern is stupid... sellner... well... he is a eu citizen... pettibone - don't know her really...

2018-03-21 21:07:54 UTC

I think Southern is too enthusiastic for journalism.

2018-03-21 21:08:07 UTC

but preventing them from entering the country was... highly suspect...

2018-03-21 21:08:41 UTC

She's a journalist to the extent that she logs the events that she witnesses and partakes in, AKA commits them to an open journal.

2018-03-21 21:09:00 UTC

anyone who show up in a identity europa shirt in st. pauli is stupid - even if it not for a antifa protest 😄

2018-03-21 21:09:15 UTC

and 4D chess, playing the people against themselves, use their problem so the extent people think of a good fix so they'll think they brought the idea of a fix, and thus be blameless after you said "You people have a good idea, we'll make it happen"

Making the people like you for fixing the issue and giving the opposition a bad image (removing abuse of power laws after everyone knows they exist)

2018-03-21 21:10:10 UTC

problem with that is that you first have to implement the law...

2018-03-21 21:10:25 UTC

The one problem with that

2018-03-21 21:10:29 UTC

the UK doesn't have a decent party.

2018-03-21 21:10:35 UTC

basically

1. Punish a person with the law, showing everyone the law is bad
2. say "See, this law is bad, lets remove it"
3. Remove the law and be the hero
4. ???
5. Profit
