Okay, there's some actual momentum to this.
whoever accused him should've come forward a few months ago when everyone and their father was being accused of sexual harassment
I bet it was just a gassy mexican
points for anyone getting that reference

these people
twitter isint real
these fucking comments and responses
where does all this hate come from
Intellectual dishonesty is how people get away with criticizisms
because the government was compelling speech, and he didnt like it... therefore authoritarians hate
would be interesting if another authoritarian group got in, perhaps white supremacists.. and they used the same laws to compel people to use the n-word, if they would still agree its a "good law"
tfw you're black and want to use the n word but don't because you're scared to get banned
or even just moderately, and maybe more realistically... a group got in power and compelled people to use technical pronouns (ie even a trans woman must be referred to as "he") ... the choice should always be free
thing about the n-word, I've never even quoted it nevermind said it in public or private (just personal choice really) - but it doesnt offend me at all (yes Im white) but I do wonder - when a white person hears it and starts getting "so offended" starts jumping up and telling people how offended they are... Im wondering if black people are looking at them like.. "wtf are you offended about??!?" 😛
tbh I dont recall ever hearing any white person actually use it IRL
Frankly, I believe we should be allowed to fuck up verbally
I call most people on the internet 'he'
what happens if youre from another country, but call a Canadian trans woman "he"? :/
Human rights coalition can't do jack
They have no jurisdiction in their own country, let alone others
I havent actually read C-16... is it specifically pronouns... or is it.. if you call a muslim a christian as well
It's weird
But the problem wasn't pronouns in itself
It was gender identity and gender expression
Which are both vague terms
Say you get into a fender bender with a xer and don't acknoeledge xir's pronouns because they're very feminine.
You're now committing a felony and have to confront a human rights tribunal
Here's the problem though. You can't claim ignorance.
sounds like another "the court decides what you meant"
Yeah. Which is compelled speech.
seems to be a trend on that
And it's a slippery slope
He was concerned about the slippery slope
But people misunderstood what he meant saying he refused to acknowledge pronouns
i like how people went "it only changed like these 3 things. it only added it in like 3 places" and its just like "well yeah.... WHICH CHANGES THE REST OF THAT LAW ENTIRELY"
well way back in the video that went viral and put him on the map - someone asked him "would you use my pronoun" and he replied something along the lines of "that may not help you"
he has been on record saying that in one on one conversation, and not in the public sphere, he would use the pronoun if you asked
