@wacka from what i understand, Jews have the oldest claim to that land, however i believe in and around WWII it was under the control of.... the British? and before the British or whoever it was owned by Muslims or something. and before that was years of wars. Israel as a country was founded in 1948 at the suggestion of the United Nations.
