How many dangerous places are there in latin america in first place ?

2018-06-22 14:57:47 UTC

Places where you can be legitimately be considered refugee if you run away from ?

2018-06-22 14:58:38 UTC

And then there is the problem that you should ask for asylum in nearest safe country no ?

2018-06-22 15:00:30 UTC

They aren’t trying to become refugees. If they were they would apply at border control.

2018-06-22 15:00:57 UTC

But some media are referring to them as such

2018-06-22 15:01:24 UTC

Of course some media is. Doesn’t make it true.

2018-06-22 15:01:54 UTC

Like i can understand you can be political refugee from Cuba or maybe Venezuela

2018-06-22 15:02:00 UTC

They are trying to appeal to emotion.

2018-06-22 15:02:22 UTC

If you say refugee instead of illegal people feel bad for them more.

2018-06-22 15:02:28 UTC

But i am interested in statistics of this

2018-06-22 15:02:56 UTC

How many ppl when they ask for admitence as a refugee actually succeed ?

2018-06-22 15:03:22 UTC

No idea.

2018-06-22 15:03:36 UTC

Because it seems to me that huge majority of those ppl are economic migrants

2018-06-22 15:04:08 UTC

And poverty isnt internationally accepted as an reason to be given refuge

2018-06-22 15:04:15 UTC

If i am not wrong

2018-06-22 15:04:31 UTC

What about crime? Probably not as well.

2018-06-22 15:04:46 UTC

That is kind of gray area

2018-06-22 15:05:05 UTC

It’s more wars and things.

2018-06-22 15:06:08 UTC

Most of them claim that they are from places with zero governmantal protection and under the life danger from crime

2018-06-22 15:06:48 UTC

But i happen to have few south american friends on the internet and most of latin america is pretty safe

2018-06-22 15:07:10 UTC

I mean there are probably places which are dangerous

2018-06-22 15:07:35 UTC

But i would say south america is much safer then africa in this regard

2018-06-22 15:09:13 UTC

Mexico is poor, corrupt, and mostly run by cartels. People come to america to try and have a better life for themselves, but don't integrate usually (because learning another language is hard and why should they have to when they are mostly around 30-40 other people just like them)

2018-06-22 15:10:05 UTC

grenade what I was getting at was is it a mainstream opinion that using state resources to interfere with federal border agents is legitimate, and that the state government, not the federal government, should be in charge of the border and immigration policy?

2018-06-22 15:10:49 UTC

Nah it has to be fed gov

2018-06-22 15:11:12 UTC

You cant relegate border safety to local municipalities

2018-06-22 15:11:19 UTC

I know what the law is on the matter, I'm just wondering what mainstream opinion is in California.

2018-06-22 15:11:59 UTC

what do you call mainstream?

2018-06-22 15:12:39 UTC

Can politicians who hold this view win elections and put such policies into action?

2018-06-22 15:13:55 UTC

there is mainstream as in msm, in which case yes. mainstream in terms of the majority of the population of California? well at least in the coastal cities which contain most of California's population? most likely. Can a politician win holding that view? yes because they gerrymander to shit, hence some of the grievances of the new California movement.

2018-06-22 15:15:06 UTC

anything you attributed to California really only applies to its like 6 major cities, and its extremely wealthy residence.

2018-06-22 15:15:45 UTC

My concern is that this could cross the line into the realm of sedition, at which point Trump is put in the dilemma of having to either do nothing, and appear weak to his base, or having to come down on state officials with federal charges, which would immediately spawn a much larger backlash of seditious activity, or outright insurrection.

2018-06-22 15:15:52 UTC

also, there is a significant portion of illegal immigrants in cali, that the dem recolonize as legitimate voters

2018-06-22 15:17:26 UTC

Even now it's perfectly acceptable for people to shut down federal facilities with protests, and democrat politicians are planning on visiting the protestors and perhaps even public speaking in support of their actions. If one of these politicians was arrested for some sort of seditious conspiracy charge with respect to undermining border enforcement, then shit would hit the fan.

2018-06-22 15:17:29 UTC

idk how accurate this is, given the source, but it would be the goal of them http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/08/04/2-illegal-aliens-appointed-to-public-office-in-huntington-park/

2018-06-22 15:19:20 UTC

Jesus Christ California is broken on so many levels.

2018-06-22 15:20:19 UTC

yes

2018-06-22 15:20:20 UTC

ICE could just come in and pick them up. Can't be difficult to find illegals that are in public office.

2018-06-22 15:20:34 UTC

Idk it looks to me like that comical picture of a man sitting on a branch and sawing it with vigour

2018-06-22 15:20:39 UTC

wouldnt that be hillarious

Ice raiding city hall

2018-06-22 15:20:39 UTC

which is why the 3 state idea even got to ballot, and new california is going forward (i think) as we speak
