it's true! I imagine many Jews are less ethnically Jewish than you are ethnically German.

But in a way he's right - the "German" identity is more abstract and seems weaker than more local (e.g. Bundesland level) identities

what do they eat in Germany for Christmas dinner? We eat turkey and ham

pumpkin pie, sweet tea, stuffing (bread and vegetables baked for like 2 hours)

not sure about other families, but we always had something different each time

this time sausages, sometimes goose, sometimes raclette 😄

but sausages are popular imo

For us, it's usually Turkey and Ham. Saussages and Schnitzel and Brautwurst are every day foods

and sauerkraut 😃

yea, we have a shop around here that makes fresh breads European style and my favorite are the German/Polish/Czech breads. they are perfect, much better than say italian or french bread
