It's far easier to prove something DID happen if it did than to prove something DIDN'T happen if it didn't.

If you're trying to prove that the switch happened, you'd point to the current fact that confederate states tend to lean right.

The real switch is that the Democrats are still racist but now they support minorities instead of whites.
