I think there was plenty of press about the anthrax about 15 years ago

2018-10-26 04:45:11 UTC

These kind of things get press

2018-10-26 04:45:13 UTC

It's news

2018-10-26 04:45:42 UTC

But for now we wait for the professionals to investigate

Chuck Todd: 'Is RUSSIA responsible for mail bomb scares TERRORISING America?'

2018-10-26 13:19:45 UTC

"I'm not saying they are, I'm just asking the question."

2018-10-26 13:19:59 UTC

Pretty much!

"Does Hillary Clinton feast and bathe in the blood of the unborn to sustain her damned existence?"

2018-10-26 13:33:43 UTC

"I don't know, I'm just asking."

2018-10-26 13:43:20 UTC

...Of course. Because he's sane.

lmao

Is it possible that a man living in a van delivering pizzas can construct 13 bombs (cut the PVC, pack the powder, solder the wires, etc...) and send them out? Maybe, but more likely he had a shop - perhaps with help. So how would a false flag event occur?

Sayoc was already a looser with a public criminal (anti-Dem threats) record, not difficult to find and befriend with alcohol and a little loose cash. At first joking about the bombs in some man cave shop, making sure his DNA is all over the material, the handler sends out the bombs and/or blackmails Sayoc - he is now in big - the rest is history. The handler cleans the shop and disappears. Sayoc now needs to cut a deal with prosecutors to get out in 5 years with good behavior. Not that difficult of an operation if reasonably funded. Perhaps have a couple marks groomed to ensure for an "October political surprise."

Not saying I believe this, just saying it is a possibility. This is not unheard of. The guy was an experienced criminal, understanding what forensics can do (though unsuccessful he did have a couple of businesses) - why so sloppy? His Twitter showed a bit of detail and polling data. Hard to say, but it is hard to believe he could not understand what the effect of this act would be. But perhaps he just fell into the trap ...

2018-10-27 09:50:00 UTC

I know next to nothing about the story. Were the bombs even real?

2018-10-27 09:50:54 UTC

In any case, cutting PVC is... ridiculously easy. Soldering isn't rocket science; even an idiot can do a job that will at least work. Not sure what else there is to it.

2018-10-27 09:50:58 UTC

Real in the sense they had fireworks powder in them, but they could not have detonated ... so just meant to scare.

2018-10-27 09:51:24 UTC

Could you do this while living in a van?

2018-10-27 09:52:42 UTC

Absolutely.

2018-10-27 09:53:00 UTC

Where did he plug in the soldering gun? The van has tools to cut and seal the ends?

2018-10-27 09:53:13 UTC

Hell, as far as the pipes go, you can get them cut to length at whatever hardware store.

2018-10-27 09:53:37 UTC

The van doesn't need to be equipped with tools. You can buy them separately, I'm sure. 😉

2018-10-27 09:53:56 UTC

LOL, hey Mr. Hardware man, can you cut me 13 pip bomb sized tubes?

2018-10-27 09:54:00 UTC
2018-10-27 09:54:23 UTC

Totally real btw; I have one in a drawer somewhere. Works well too.

2018-10-27 09:54:54 UTC

Yes possible, but the scenario I lay also could have happened ...

2018-10-27 09:55:23 UTC

Sure, but why complicate things with a big conspiracy theory?

2018-10-27 09:55:35 UTC

What you mean?

2018-10-27 09:57:15 UTC

Look, just because something *could* have happened and it would make for a more interesting story doesn't mean it's the more plausible option.

2018-10-27 09:57:25 UTC

The world isn't always interesting.

2018-10-27 09:58:22 UTC

So why make up crazy theories when in all likelihood the reality is that it's just far more simple and boring?

2018-10-27 09:59:05 UTC

Just saying. Not ruling anything out, but it's not a grand project that requires any external actors to happen.

2018-10-27 10:00:19 UTC

Because there is a lot of power/money at stake ... one can not be naive. It only takes one handler, not so expensive, but well paid maybe $100K for the job. With millions in donor money floating around ...

2018-10-27 10:01:16 UTC

In that case, why not just use those resources to make the bombs, wipe them clean, and deliver them without leaving any loose ends?

2018-10-27 10:01:32 UTC

Van guy would be a huge liability.

2018-10-27 10:01:49 UTC

No, because you need a known Rep crazy to pin it on.

2018-10-27 10:02:34 UTC

The guy fits all the stereotypes ... perfect pawn...

2018-10-27 10:02:41 UTC

What if he rats them out though? There's no way of ruling out that possibility.

2018-10-27 10:03:17 UTC

Sure, but it will just be viewed as a stunt to get out of the charges ... he cops a plea deal and take a less sentence.
