got 50 years to find you innocent.

2018-11-30 23:45:34 UTC

The minimum time served is entirely arbitrary based on your personal opinion.

2018-11-30 23:45:53 UTC

Just because we have to limit some freedoms in extreme cases it doesn't mean we should go further.

2018-11-30 23:45:56 UTC

well i dont know any parents that wouldnt die for their children

2018-11-30 23:46:28 UTC

hey, like i said, i'd prefer exile.

2018-11-30 23:46:33 UTC

@Jes sounds like a good way to scam the state for finantial profit

2018-11-30 23:46:35 UTC

exile would be good

2018-11-30 23:46:38 UTC

but there is no where left to do that is there?

2018-11-30 23:46:43 UTC

well, maybe the poles

2018-11-30 23:46:58 UTC

There are plenty of uninhabited islands

2018-11-30 23:47:07 UTC

hey its a fair point @.B some people would try to manipulate it

2018-11-30 23:47:09 UTC

large enough to give them a fighting chance?

2018-11-30 23:47:17 UTC

I do think exile would be an alternative in the future

2018-11-30 23:47:19 UTC

Yes

2018-11-30 23:47:40 UTC

plenty of vacant farms in south africa these days

2018-11-30 23:47:52 UTC

they are not vacant

2018-11-30 23:48:09 UTC

those who murdered the farmers still roam there

2018-11-30 23:48:26 UTC

death would be better than giving them to the crazies down there

2018-11-30 23:48:42 UTC

although, we could sick murders on places we don't like.

2018-11-30 23:48:52 UTC

i can see both sides of the argument. i agree that to the innocent the loss of freedom for decades is torture. and yeah you cant undo an execution so no answer is perfect

2018-11-30 23:49:21 UTC

exile is really the only preferred solution

2018-11-30 23:49:26 UTC

What if we just... Improved our prisons?

2018-11-30 23:49:32 UTC

we could do that

2018-11-30 23:49:34 UTC

improved them how?

2018-11-30 23:49:46 UTC

i am for improving them yeah

2018-11-30 23:49:55 UTC

but then society needs to determine if it is willing to forgive.

2018-11-30 23:49:58 UTC

currently it is not.

2018-11-30 23:50:09 UTC

get jailed for anything, good luck finding work

2018-11-30 23:50:31 UTC

even innocent, you still ahve to say yes. and if they find out you are lying, good bye.

2018-11-30 23:50:33 UTC

It's harder, but it's hardly a death sentence... Especially compared to a death sentence.

2018-11-30 23:51:04 UTC

you know how many people we send back to jail because selling dope was the only way for them to earn a living?

2018-11-30 23:51:16 UTC

some of them we even FINE for having been in jail

2018-11-30 23:51:19 UTC

@Grenade123 we have something here in the UK called the "rehabilitation of offenders act" the TL:Dr is that for minor crimes after a set period of non offending you do not have to declare the crime except for certain exempt jobs like child care

2018-11-30 23:51:23 UTC

The only way?

2018-11-30 23:51:27 UTC

they server their debt to society, and we go "now pay us back"

2018-11-30 23:52:20 UTC

the conviction is considered "spent"

2018-11-30 23:52:21 UTC

sorry I can't think of rehabilitation as something serious, as the left tries to make sure that anyone that disagrees with them have no right to have a job

2018-11-30 23:52:23 UTC

what do you mean "even innocent"

2018-11-30 23:52:49 UTC

Is it not possible that society would be more accepting of former convicts if we improved our rehabilitation systems and convicts were better to integrate?

2018-11-30 23:53:00 UTC

@taekahn if you are found wrongly convicted

2018-11-30 23:53:08 UTC

Ah
