ah ok.. in the UK you go into the supermarket and pick up a scanner.... walk around picking your stuff scan it, and put it straight into your bag... then on your way out you just put the scanner back and pay with your credit card.. all pretty quick and efficient

Nah, literally self checkout maintainence here. I get paid to watch people and fix dumb mistakes.

I vaguely remember they did something similar here like... 30-odd years ago but phased them out almost instantly

(for paying stuff)

I dont think we'll move completely to an app yet.. there are still a lot of old ppl with old big phones with huge number buttons on them

I think people are starting to not want to let google do everything for them

but speaking of apps... someone high in the banking industry was talking about some app theyre trying to push

some kind of all in one app that all banks can use

so all banking is done in one place

knowing how some banks work... that's just asking for it

which to me sounds kinda silly... but they sound like they really want to push it and incetivise it
