zutt, I'm not sure there is a way to make governance more efficient
There is
Its all about political culture
face it, if you want government to be more efficient, you gotta cut its funding, so that it has to improvise and make it work
If you add more funding than it needs, it can become lax because it can afford to fail a bit
i think its a curve
And if it won't work, then people themselves will find a solution that doesn't need government
and not linear
Well, you can't cut funding too far, or else the government doesn't have the power to do what it needs to do
Not today but in the future i will give you propper accounting on this
e.g. the postal service
Its a complex set of issues
cutting it too much means you cant afford certain people or machines that are highly efficient, there is a curve where you get maximum price/performance
theres a lot of things government shouldn't have the power to do, scrap it
why does the postal service need to be monopolized by a state corporation?
In my eyes we are not really utilizing well the tools we already have as a society
Well Zutt, thats because most people aren't smart enough to grasp that fact,
Thinking is difficult for many people
should be privatized ... or broken up and then privatized 😉
if you need proof, look at the 60 million Americans that voted for that democrat Goblin
Well lots of ppl dont want to care
But tou can work around that
In modern style democracy
why should it be monopolized is a better question?
It isn't monopolized
UPS and FedEx are just two private sector competitors to the postal service
lol of course it is.... it monopolizes the letters
they only send packages ....
state has a legal monopoly on the paper letter notes
You can send letters via FedEx and UPS, they just need to be in the big manila envelopes
That was their decision not to take letters and ship them en masse
but no regular letter envelopes
no, its cuz its illegal for them to do that
tbh the postal service should start getting privatized,
If its in the public sector you pay taxes for it, and how many people still use letters?
e-mailzz
state has a monopoly on sending the regular letter envelopes
Well, all the junk mail companies, for a start
they still use letters
doesnt make sense to give ANY corporation legal privileges to monopolize a market
Well, another way to put it would be that the postal service was grandfathered in as a monopoly
By the time most of the big parcel-shipping companies were created, the USPS had already been shipping letters for quite some time
