ugh i'm tired and its only 8pm
darn sugar gliders misbehaving and keeping me up last night.
On the whole Reddit "*Want People Banned For Speech? Ok How about You First?*" I strongly suspect that that they are not done with capping big "unwholesome" subs, they either kill a sub for being too bad for PR &/or because they can't strong arm a sub to conform to their standards, & exist more as setting an example for getting on their bad side, they also don't always have too kill a sub, they can also oust the mods with new ones like /r/anarchism losing mods because they let their sub be an anarchy (http://archive.is/EuIdU). Banning this specific user seems to be more of a case of sending message about what happens if you leak DMs of the admins to rouse people up against them.
My video today about the male feminist was killed by youtube algorithm
Honestly I cannot for the life of me understand why people expect a social media site that hides unpopular views by default to be a bastion of free speech and a path into the marketplace of ideas
Controversial ideas have been aired on Reddit in spite of its construction and, from what I can tell, the attitudes of the larger community
they want to be accepted
jesus
@Timcast reddit , youtube ... once bastions of free speech .... when a company gets bigger they always start policiing speech
That's not quite something new
tru ^
Look at Harry Hay for example
And re: YT Algorithms and Policy, it just feels entirely random and arbitrary. I remember when HyperBitHero got basically demonetized across the board, and all he did was make videos about video games you might like and the villains in them
You'll find his support for NAMBLA hidden very deep in one sentence in his wikipedia page buried under all his accomplishments for the LGBT
i never knew what nambla was until southpark
I thought it was a joke until a long time later
That needed a THIS IS NOT A JOKE disclaimer like the scientology episode
lol
The Mormon episode got one too iirc
i learned a lot from southpark
I remember from last year something about BAMN being tied to NAMBLA
Oh yeah. One of the founding members has close connections iirc
Two birds with one stone :^)
The revolutionary worker's league which is their parent company has ties
I have
i saw it when he posted it back in amy
cool, I only just saw it
He talked about it in one of his videos.
He's right about it not being that viral.
Half a million views really isn't that many.
