That you don't know this proves how much you need to clean your room, get your bloody act together, go out and do a proper job and have a tree fall on you and then maybe pick up your father from the Underworld.
boy that escalated quickly
And don't turn around to look at your wife or she'll turn into a pillar of salt!!
Despite any statements he may have made to the contrary, Peterson is very optimistic about the stability of western civilization. None of the advice he gives is particularly applicable in a rapidly changing world where modernist philosophical principles are no longer the norm.
"Stand up striaght" "Face the world head on" "Speak the truth" etc is kinda counterproductive if you're trying to avoid getting gulag'd in a post-modernist society.
Anyone who has a plan to advise like Peterson does, is optimistic at some level.
The people who annoy me the most are the ones who describe ALL THE PROBLEMS and explore zero solutions.
I'm almost, and maybe am, less annoyed by people who just have the facts wrong.
I think he was onto something when he proposed starting a site for rating courses and professors. It was kind of half-baked though and got rightfully shot down as being a potential witch-hunt.
I'd like to see something like a cross between several sites which fulfilled the same function while providing other benefits.
That's one site I had in mind, but if it could include functionality like Political Compass and OKCupid it would be awesome.
Identify people of opposing viewpoints on the same campus and encourage them to interact.
In many cases no solutions is better than poorly thought out solutions. Like capitalism despite being the best known system and bringing about so much progress for the world does have some serious flaws, but then when you look at the commonly proposed solutions like Socialism you realize that just striving for progress without care for unintended consequences is a poor choice
And things like "Students of a progressive viewpoint rated this professor as X, while students of a conservative viewpoint rated them Y"
But it could go awry pretty quickly
Oh yeah, it'd have to be pretty heavily anonymized. Maybe require institutional email.
Most people just aren't equipped to create good solutions, but that doesn't mean they can't point out real problems
Facebook was best when it required institutional email.
Oh, like not actually meet in person?
Well, that could go EXTRA bad.
Ok
Imagine people at Berkeley using that to stalk wrong-thinkers.
I was gonna say, there are people who'd use just to identify "Nazis" on their campus
But if it stayed online in a pseudoanonymous environment it could work well.
That would be pretty interesting to see
And the institutions themselves could organized IRL meetups in safe public spaces.
What are you people talking about
how to cure ligma
Cyanide
Oh BTW I did an amazing thing today
I deleted both my twitter accounts
And instead I took an online course about AI
