Greetings human people persons, I come to you with one question: Why do you think the earth is flat?
Why partial?
Oh
Do you believe vaccines give autism or whatever?
Why is water wet?
I believe wetness is merely a sensation you feel, not what the water actually is.
But is it....?
I know it doesn't, I was literally just saying what I think, chill out
I was just messing around, I didnt intend for all this.
I really don't care whether or not water is wet. To me, water is water OwO
Anyone want to explain why they believe the earth is flat? I'd love to have a civilized debate over it.
#no sarcasm
No one has answered my question and I'd like to understand why. Am I just being ignored?
Why do none of you wish to debate me on the earth's shape?
I feel the earth is round and I'd like to debate any of you on the subject.
Well @Yabai I've asked a few times before and gotten no response.
I want to debate the shape of the earth, flat vs round.
Or at least have someone explain to me why they believe the earth is flat, because I believe it's round.
I asked in a less demanding way a few times now and got no response, so I felt like I had to be "louder" if that makes sense.
If the earth is flat, then why can I travel in a straight line and return back to where I started?
No, I haven't done it personally, but I know if I were to head east, and hypothetically I could go in a straight line with no obstacles, I would return to my starting point.
Also, how do you explain the curvature that you see when you get to a higher elevation (ex: the top of a mountain?)
I've been in a plane, just not around the world, and I can say I've seen the curvature over the horizon.
How would a flat earth curve?
But how does that work for a flat earth?
I thought you just said my circumnavigation point made no sense.
H8
I had proof but I can't upload images.
No permission
I said look out at the horizon from a higher point of elevation
It curves
I never thought about that, you can see different constellations and stars at different points on the earth, that's what you mean right?
Key word sphere.
Flat earths don't have spheres
It'd just be north and south I guess
Yeah, that makes sense
But how does it spin?
Also, how does that gif explain eclipses?
Ok, I missed a lot, can anyone be so kind as to fill me in?
What?
How is that bad word usage? XD
The earth is round and I wish I could put some photographic evidence but I'm "missing permissions" apparently.
Idk, you tell me
How do I prove it's round then?
Riddle me this, have you ever flown in a plane, looked out the window and saw a sort of, curve, out in the distance along the horizon.
I have. Once. But it was enough proof.
Thanks
Why did someone put an "eggplant" under my thanks? XD
Ok I see how it is
What else would be doing it?
Also, how do you flat earthers explain the fact that when ships sail off the horizon, you see the ship disappear from bottom to top. If the earth was really flat, the boat wouldn't dip below the horizon.
@Seeker of Truth what's your proof of that?
The sun distance I mean
Why the hell would I watch the sun for a whole day?
Well, he said what we were taught about the sun is wrong, I want to know why
How does looking at the sun make it smaller and closer? Things always look smaller the farther away you are.
Plus, what does this have to do with the earth being flat?
How does this explain eclipses though?
If the earth is flat, how do you explain ships sinking below the horizon? If the earth were flat they wouldn't do that.
If that day night model were true, the sun would cover the whole earth due to its massive size.
It's really not though
What size ratio is it compared to earth?
Like the same size, half sized?
Also how close is it?
^
Really dude?
Some dude named daiel wanted me to drop off this receipt for the experiment and would like to request a ban lift https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/628389502544642068/635964554827792384/Screenshot_20191021-181601_Ecosia.jpg
Unless you guys have an explanation for that...
Which I don't know how that makes more sense than a round earth but ok
If I knew that, probably not
But you can't TELL just by looking at someone. And living in paranoia towards everyone is no way to live
No, you don't trust everyone instantly with everything, but you have to trust most people to not kill you or mug you
You don't have to give away your money, or share your darkest secrets, but you can, until proven otherwise, trust they won't bring harm to you
You don't have a choice really, again, do you really want to live your life paranoid
Exactly, that's another great point
Agreed, I still need convincing
Don't forget ships sinking over the horizon
Yes
^
Timezones are basically what cause it to be noon in one part of the world and Sunset in another part
It's really not a spotlight though
But I have a different question, why would the earth be flat if we can clearly see the moon is round? It has curvature in its shadows. Why would all the other celestial bodies in the solar system be round while the earth is flat?
That's not at all the same thing
What does that even mean?
*sigh*
Idk anymore
@H8mz88 what's your point?
@Citizen Z I don't even use Facebook nerd
@H8mz88 no u
^
But why?
did you seriously just say the moon is a planet...
...
Galaxies are just a collection of stars and other debris that are round.
Rotating around a central star/ black hole etc.
@Citizen Z that's like me posting a picture of round earth, and saying it's round
The universe isn't flat
It's never ending space
In all directions
@H8mz88 something funny?
