More the entertainment derived from their public displays, look at bezos as you mentioned, his take over is pretty important but it ain’t a spectacle

I think that was one of his big advantages actually. Most people don't want to listen to ANY of those sorts of speeches, so the average person won't ever say "wow this person is really who I want for president". So even if many people were watching just for the train crash drawing that larger audience just due to entertainment value is going to get you some people who never would have cared to vote to finally find someone they really do want to vote for
