Well I mean there's this thing called gender dysphoria
It's equally as diagnosable as depression and anxiety
Many have it, which causes them to be another gender than the one assigned to them at birth
Gender dysphoria gives you distress because you feel like you shouldn't be the sex that you are
Gender reassignment surgeries simply make you the gender that you feel like you are
And does relive dysphoria
Trans people deserve to be treated just like their cis counterparts
Trans men are men, trans women are women
They may not be able to reproduce, but as long as they're happy and treated the same
True, but they should be treated like they're cis
True
They should be treated the same no matter what though
Couldn't have said it better
I'm here to learn more about politics, I'm in high school
To be more educated
I'm more in the middle but a right lean
In college I'm planning to do psychology
Nice
Black lives do matter, but when I think of that title, it gives me the vibe that *only* black lives matter. I like: all lives matter. All minorities shouldn't be minorities, there should be no minority/majority. Everyone should be given the same chances no matter their economic status, race, ethnicity, or sexuality.
At the same time I am very white and have not experienced discrimination first hand, I've only heard of people being discriminated against because of their color. Which is ridiculous, but I don't know if that's common
I'm not very educated on many race issues, so could some people educate me?
it shouldn't be just black, what about every other minority? Every one should be given the same opportunities despite their skin tone
Yes
It should be everyone has a chance
Yes
I believe that God is real, but there isn't just one religion.
Like there are afterlives for everyone depending on their religions
And all religions are valid to them
And if someone doesn't have the same religious beliefs as you, you shouldn't force them to feel the same way
Agreed, but they were oppressed for their skin tone for so long
I guess it really matters to them
Agreed
I believe that there's a God, but I don't believe all of the rules in the Bible are real
I think that God is more forgiving than how the Bible portraits
I think that it's ironic that the Bible says that being gay is wrong, but also that anyone other than God judging others is wrong
Let's just say that many Christians only follow one of those
I am one of them, but the one that I think is right
The no one can judge others other than God
But many judge people on the LGBT because it conflicts with their beliefs
Which is ironic because if you're a true "Bible Christian" you would stop judging
If you think being gay is wrong, that's fine, just don't come to pride parades forcing your beliefs onto others
That's interesting, and I agree
Agreed
You were born with whatever skin tone you have, and it shouldn't be something to hold someone accountable on
My ancestors might have been slave owners
My ancestors may have been slaves themselves
I'm particularly Irish
So..
But we never talk about that
Yeah, true. You see, I don't know much about the Irish slaves because guess what? They don't teach that in schools anymore
Yeah, but eventually it turned into skin color
People weren't given the same opportunities because of their race
Because they weren't seen as people
Even after slavery was abolished
When slavery *was* still a thing, blacks were seen as objects
But not anymore, i don't get why everyone dwells on the past
Eyy
What is the labor party?
I've never heard of that
Ah
Oh
Alright feminism is needed to correct some people, but not as needed as before. It's very needed in the middle east and Africa
There are people who still think that men are superior and more needed in society
When both men and women play different, but important roles in society
when I say I'm a feminist I mean that women and men should be treated the same, not that I'm a TERF.
TERFs and most modern feminists are ridiculous and I don't agree with it
And I agree
True, it can get confusing
TERFs just make me laugh
A lot of modern feminism is just women superiority, not women rights
Me too, they just want to be treated like their cis counterparts (when I say that like trans men being considered men)
Born as that gender
For example, I was born a female and I identify as a female
NOO
Me neither
Not all men are pigs
There's some really good men out there, but there are incels
Yeah, I agree
I care about everyone's rights
Yeah, true
I want to put my focus on everyone's needs and rights, no one should be belittled or not taken seriously about something because of their gender or race
I agree, soup
That's ridiculous, men get raped too. No one should be silenced
Oh God
I hate that
Yeah, but they're silenced because they have to "be a man" or they're accused of enjoying it
Then being called gay
Well said
Exactly, soup. It's just so contradictory
Yes, but it's also difficult for women too
The topic itself is very sensitive and difficult to open up about
On both sides
@un chien m'a lรฉchรฉ un pbj๐ณ exactly, and whenever I get upset about something I'm told to stop being such a woman by my boyfriend's friends. It's ridiculous, showing emotion isn't feminine, its human
Not all men are like this, obviously. But it's sad that some are
Like it's sad how some women are manipulative and can get away with falsely accusing a man of rape and ruining his carrer
Yeah, which I think is sad
Men should be allowed to show emotion without being frowned upon
Which is ridiculous
By social media, do you mean online?
Which if that's the case, that is ridiculous. People can be persuaded and manipulated online very easily
Ah yes, I know what you mean
