Imperfection isn't valued nearly enough.

So we know the follies of marxism and fundamentalism. So, how about thinking beyond left and right?

Is that some attempt at mockery?

Ok. How about more guinuine thought, less satire then?

Figuring out were society goes isn't going to lead to some positive change.

I'd much rather see whatever future we wanted to be aimed for.

@Deleted User assuming I'm naive of that, makes you look naive to me.

I just wish sometimes that instead of sticking to one ideology as a gospel, anyone or all of you instead just looked at the issues and looked for the proper solution, no matter wether or not it fit what you already believe.

Pragmatism has it's issues too, but there's something off ot be said for accomplishing the little things and building off of that rather then making things perfect.

Especially since there isn't one set of things that make up the human condition for everyone (as per that post about human nature.), I doubt you can make it fit everyone all at once. *However.*

You could make a minimum size system to help facilitate all those people helping themselves with thier possibly unique problems (or not so unique.), and then your not so worried about all that, the government isn't solving everyone's problems it can't possibly solve anyway.

@olev no they aren't, that's just a symptoms . You can either believe in the current idealogical meta, or you could decide your fed up with everyone's crap and move up a level.
But to give that idea credit anyway, if it's class, it's based off of that enough people prefer to be on top, they are afraid that they won't have enough, or that they don't feel satisfied otherwise, or that they are afraid of work.

If we all were able to learn to, and find the work we love, a lot of troubles would be lessened.

But go ahead and disagree with me, go ahead and stay in your idea foxhole and see where it gets you.

Never thinking anything is your own fault.

Blaming everyone else, and so nothing changes.

@Deleted User moot point. Don't chase your passion. Find that job that works well and work on the tolerance part after.

I was afraid of never finding work that suited me, and it took me years, but I found it this past year. I shouldn't have ever been afraid.

So you don't mind the fates of those monarchs then? Because frankly, if that's the ending they got, I wouldn't want to start, and I certainly wouldn't idolise them.

@Deleted User @Brickiest Brick That isn't a fact at all and you clearly haven't done enough research.
I'd understand if that was based on your actual experiences but not only do I suspect the lack of research, but that you end up lying to others, and worse, lying to yourselves. At least be honest with yourself if you wish to accomplish anything.

I don't know the context for that.

The only thing I could praise stalin for was all that effort in the first half of the prior century for the country and it's people, but it also took plenty of scarifice, unfortunately, a lot of that wasn't entirely necessary.

I'll be the judge of that. Well, for myself anyway.

You'll have to forgive me, but I'd prefer subjugating the enemy over matching them.

Better yet, giving then every reason not to fight at all. So an army being cool, I mean, sure, thier cool to me......in fiction.

@olev not going to disagree.

@Brickiest Brick I'll put it this way. If you want to be racist, there's little I can or should do, so whatever. If however you claim that opinion as fact, you don't know what your talking about, that's all I have to say.

You can lie with statistics.

But even so, no citations, no 2nd opinion, nothing.

Alright. Then let me put it this way. Even if it's true, what difference does that even make?

That's part of it. Actually, that's most of it.

A high IQ means your good at the IQ test, that is all.

Plenty of talent from people who may otherwise score low.

If it isn't a statistic, then what is it?

I could ask you the same question.

Because I know how you can lie with statistics.

I understand marxism, and I find it lacking. But I learned what I could from it.

If I told you, would you believe me?
Because I'm not sure that's the case, I'm not confident in sharing.

Confirmation bias and all that. I'm not interested in ideas, as much as those problems first

Shit. Stupid keyboard.

I'm not interested in ideas as much as dealing with the problems that underly humans believing in them, even when you can easily prove otherwise.

Simply put, proof isn't always enough.

I don't want to deny them, but the problem is valuing that correlation too much.

Alright. To help answer that question, I have to ask, why is it important to you?

I don't believe that. I know better then that.

@Cotton So? Your point being?

Iq doesn't sufficiently represent all aspects of intelligence. Now, admittedly, I could do lots more research to tell you how. But I haven't bothered yet because I knew I had enough of an answer through many experiences.

I understand that isn't enough, I can't prove a thing to you. But I can question it.

Have you met a person with prosthetic limbs?

They can manage to succeed despite what would seem to be unfathomable barriers.

Even some, like myself, with mental disabilities can still succeed.

They might also have a low iq score to boot.

Meaning?

I think I see what your saying. But now you have to define success.

What's your definition?

I'm sure some do anyway. It's not impossible. But I really wonder what success is supposed to mean.

High you say? Interesting.

What if your not a fan of the social setting or the economics?

I suppose if you were an off-grider you'd be low socio-economic.

That's not what I heard when I heard high standing.

Genetics don't define everything.

That one might have to be built up on a system you don't know anything about, and it might be esoteric to you, but I can't just say otherwise.

You'd have to go out on a limb on this, but here's a thought for you, try thinking outside of logic on occasion.

I'm not answering.

No thank you.

My apologies, but I have many reasons, I decided a long time ago I was never going to have an iq test.

This is part of the problem, it's not about math or logic, it's about "what's the trick in this trick question?" And I am either really good at those, or dramatically terrible at them.

And it tells me little about all my other abilities even within my brain, so if that's iq, it tells me very little, and is a terrible measurement used the way it is.

I didn't know the answer beforehand, but I knew there was a trick, and yeah, 0.05 + 1.00 is going to be 1.05, so 1.05+0.05 is 1.10.

Doesn't make you dumb though.

X is bat, Y is ball, Z is total
X+Y=Z , X= Y+1.00, Z= 1.10, (Y+1.00)+Y= 1.10
2Y= 0.10
Y=0.05

I know people who aren't good at math, it's fine, either you can practice it, or decide to have skills in a different area.

Follow that message again, I edited it so that it's easier to read.

Algebra. It works like that.

Hmmm.
It's just that I don't think I'd be a good math teacher. And i assumed you understood how it worked. I apologize for making that assumption then.

I'll try anyway. X is our variable, or unknown number representative of the price of the bat.
Y is the price of the ball, similarly.
We know that whatever thier prices are, they have to add up to 1.10.

So, we can write X+Y=1.10

However, we also know that the bat is a dollar more then the ball, so what we do is say this.
X=Y+1.00

What we can do is replace the x in that equation with that info!

X+Y=1.10 becomes
(Y+1.00)+Y=1.10

That's where I got my 2nd Y.

It is information of one unknown number based off the other. But if we know this kind of info, we can isolate the other.

If we want to after, we can check our work, replace the number we found for Y, or the ball, with that number.

2Y+1.00=1.10
2Y=0.10
Y=0.05
X+0.05= 1.10
X=1.05
1.05+0.05=1.10
And it fits all the requirements.

In any case, there's something to be said for mentorship, education, and training.
Sometimes, it isn't the student, but the teacher (or lack thereof.)

I'll admit that I don't know everything there is to politics, but that's ok, because I know that not everything is decided by the government. Can they be opressive? Oh, absolutely, and I am no fan of overly big government. However, it is not the end all be all (isn't that genetics? /s), and I feel some people have yet to grasp that.

In any case, the ability to analyze complex problems doesn't guarantee success by any standard, nor does always inhibit it. It is only one tool in the toolbox.

I am fairly sure those of sound mind can be fooled by stuff on the web.

Or else no one would consider the internet as of significance in the ideas space.

Guys, can you just both cool it?

This is starting to sound like a dick measuring contest, assuming it wasn't one already.

I don't want to be mean about it, but.....

Now now now.

If I wanted to call you stupid, couldn't I have with that math problem?
But I won't, because not only do I understand it to be false, I don't see how calling you dumb does anything positive, even if, somehow, it were true.

If he's a moron, why even bother with him?

If he isn't going to ever change, then he won't, and your yelling at a brick wall.

Which is, actually, why I'm not ussually here. But I'm no longer going to be judgemental.
