As an African American who makes a six figure salary, I wonder if it's even worth correcting you...

I'm a Biologist who works in Genomics.

@Danny Sullivan , out of curiosity, what is your socioeconomic status?

Do you make more than 70K a year?

What's that?

@Danny Sullivan , what's your race if you don't mind me asking?

I'm an African American and Puerto Rican male who makes six figures. My mother works in politics and my father on Wall Street. You make minimum wage, @Danny Sullivan

See what's wrong here?

@Danny Sullivan , so who is poorer, my African American family, or your white family?

My African American mother has done work with senators, mind you.

I'll post a pic, later.

That's the point.

Do you live in the US?

If so, how many poor, white people in your area work minimum wage?

White people in the US are experiencing poverty on large scales. Like @Danny Sullivan here.

So, on a larger scale, the US is full of poor white people, so why in the world are we honing in on blacks.

He says to the black person making 100K

Poor white people are poor because they are uneducated, and uneducated people say things like this.

Think what you want, poor person.

@Danny Sullivan , do you know why I'm so wealthy?

I have four degrees, so I'm able to work in STEM fields.

It disputes the fact slavery had an impact. Cultural issues can be mitigated by education, so negative cultural effects were mitigated by education.

I wasn't in slavery, and I am educated, so explain to me how slavery impacted me, personally.

But, like I said, this is what I expect from poor whites.

To me, you guys are just typical angry whites frustrated at being poor along with the socioeconomic impotence it brings. I actually laugh at people like you from the comfort of my high rise condo.

Middle class is technically poor nowadays. What sort of life can you live on that?

Me? I'm a Biologist.

My father has a high position in Wall Street and has a PhD in economics.

Do you, though?

So, do YOU make income that puts you in middle class status?

That's a no.

So, you're personally broke.

I make six figures from my work studying genetic vectors, comprising phylogenetic trees, sequence alignment, etc. for clients that require security clearance, thank you very much.

My assets, at the moment, are in a trust. My fiance and I are working out how we would like our future kids to inherit it.

I and my fiance are trustees.

We have a revocable living trust at the moment.

@laurentia , I'm pointing out the absurdisty of the premise.

I'm on my cell phone waiting on my fiance. I just finished up work. That's why.

How's it a story. Your dad works in economics. Surely he taught you about living trusts.

It's a way to bypass how wills have to be authenticated in court.

Do you agree there are things called living trusts, @laurentia ?

So, why would it be unreasonable to believe someone online has a trust?

I believe in estate planning, by the way, so I believe everyone should think about these things.

Technically, everyone has an estate and a default will. I believe people should think about living trusts for their assets, otherwise, what's in a will can be eaten up in court cost.

My father made sure to drill estate planning into my head.

I'm just answering the question to what happens to my wealth when I die. The name of my accounts is currently the name of my trust. The goal is for the beneficiaries to be our kids.

There are no kids, right now, and currently we are the only trustees.

Nope, because we are working out who would be the trustee and the stipulations.

They would need to ask the trustee to allocate the money.

They can't because they only get what the trustee can legally give them based on what we said.

They get no money?

This is why you do trust and not wills, lol

We are still working out the finances.

Me and my fiance are thinking about social causes.

Like small bits go to make our future kids comfortable

The rest goes into investing into what we were for while alive

I'm engaged and we are a typical couple.

Funny thing is my taxes are super low.

Uhh, my fiance is the socialite.

Actors and Hollywood are his circles.

Me, it's academia.

@ลukasz, yes, I'm wealthy because I work in academia. Really, though, beyond pay, the perks are more like having access to papers and education through the organizations I'm part of.

I have image loading turned off.

So, I see nothing but the name of a file.

What part of the image doesn't load without me clicking do you not get?

I used to work directly for the CDC. Currently, I'm working with the DoD.

No, my fiance is. Film is his world.

Some of them. I'm naming ones you would know. Being an alumni of universities places me in an academic cohort that gets academic access.

Like I have access to various genetic databases.

I'm in the car and traffic is horrible (my fiance is driving).

No, I'm passing the two hours in traffic.

It popped up in an occult listing.

What it means. It was posted in a server that is an occult portal.

My mother works under the state governor in a major state agency.

I picked the route of Science. Stochastic differential equations and Statistical Mechanics can be applied to Chemistry and economics. I decided to work with that and not money because energy is tangible. I can touch it.

Money is too abstract for me.

I grew up in a poltical family.

Personally, I picked Science because the relationship between energy and forces is realer than the relationship between money and goods because money depends on human society and energy does not. Similar equations just one is tangible.

So I didn't go the route of my parents.

I understand politics, but it being extrinsic to humans bores me.

Not really.

From an African American male, who isn't poor.

That's the point.

Why does that matter to you?

Anywho, what do you mean?

You mean my party?

My beliefs philosophically are more abstract than politics. For example, I believe in maximizing pro-social behavior because it increases human fitness.

Or, I believe that people should make decisions that are consistent, because it more than likely will produce more effective results.

Like which ones? What are key political issues?

Honestly, I'm not impacted directly by any of those issues so I don't really care.

I'm a wealthy man engaged to another man who isn't impacted by immigration.

Basically, yea.

I love how I told you what I believe in and you guys are ignoring it. Once again, I abstractly believe in maximizing pro-social behavior because it's correlated with human fitness and logically justified by Game Theory.

So, anything that is intrinsically anti-social, I am against on principle.

No. For example, senseless violence is bad because it makes society unstable, so because I don't want unstable societies, I am against say senseless violence.

As a Biologist, a lot of my views are based on population mechanics.

Violence that is random where randomness is a uniform likelihood of it happening. As in said violent act is equally likely for a particular population.
