The tsar was not in any way a kind man, and certainly not a โbenevolent rulerโ for as many crimes western propagandists attribute to Stalin he didnโt rule alone, he tried to resign four times unlike the tsar who did everything he could to maintain absolute power, he was elected democratically and the ussrโs constitution under Stalin was decided almost entirely democratically, he had one vote in the party that was made up of worker representatives that were voted on by the people. Compare that to the tsar who was merely a monarch who inherited his power.
