GG @DONVITO, you just advanced to level 8!

If you’d bother to actually research the Soviet Union you’d know the opposite is true, under socialism nearly everyone was able to eat even under times of scarcity, because of socialism, because eating was a right and power was in the hands of the worker not the capitalists. You can bring up the argument of bread lines and pretend that those didn’t exist under capitalism. Don’t take my word for it, nearly all of the people who lived under Socialism admit that they would have secure food and not have to worry about starving, “the shops were empty but our fridges were always full” -Julia Hodkins
This myth comes from the holodomor famine in the Ukraine that had millions starve from yet was caused by weather and Soviet Union tried to stop it. Comparing the US and the Soviet Union is at best unfair considering the US had been industrialized for decades ahead longer than Russia and before then exploited First Nations and enslaved Africans. Russia had lost two wars in a row, and just one a civil war and was decades behind the developed world and under feudalism, yet the Soviet Union went from being a backwater country full of mostly illiterate peasant farmers to a fully industrialized nation with the second highest GDP in the world in the span of ten year. Even still a report from the CIA revealed that “American and soviet citizens eat about the same amount of food each day but the Soviet diet may be more nutritious” Finally, people are obese but thousands in that country still starve and millions in Iraq, Yemen, Africa and Latin America starve directly due to western imperialism

I’d post links to support what I’m saying but for some stupid reason you can’t post links or images in this chat

2019-06-29 17:28:14 UTC

If you bothered to notice

2019-06-29 17:28:42 UTC

The Soviet Union collapsed at its ability to cut costs because it simply cannot sustained itself

2019-06-29 17:29:09 UTC

At its greatest expense, military had become 1/3 of the national GDP

2019-06-29 17:29:47 UTC

Meanwhile the United States with all its highest spending only came to ~10% of the national GDP

2019-06-29 17:30:06 UTC

Chernobyl Accident should have never happened

2019-06-29 17:30:21 UTC

But happened simply because of socialist's demand for cheap power

2019-06-29 17:31:33 UTC

The Soviet Union was entirely ran on cutting costs whenever possible for "socialism"

2019-06-29 17:33:04 UTC

Holodomor should have never happened yet it did because the Soviets would rather feed their own people first than worry about their Soviet puppet's need to feed their people

2019-06-29 17:37:23 UTC

Also this meme of the Russian Empire being mostly illiterate peasant is a joke

2019-06-29 17:37:43 UTC

The Tsar was already attempting to modernize the country

2019-06-29 17:39:14 UTC

Except he was a kind man

2019-06-29 17:39:20 UTC

A benevolent ruler

2019-06-29 17:39:59 UTC

He did not force everybody to overwork themselves

2019-06-29 17:40:41 UTC

Under the Soviet Union, Lenin was a moderate Marxist but progress of industrialisation was still slow

2019-06-29 17:41:24 UTC

It wasnt until Stalin who wanted to push the limit of the labor of his comrade that industrialized the nation

2019-06-29 17:41:52 UTC

Anyone under any economic system can industrialize a country when you start pushing man to the limit

2019-06-30 06:19:36 UTC

And yet under the tsar, workers worked up to 15 hours a day and were the lowest paid in all of Europe and industrialization was going far slower than it did under socialism. The tsar, was not a kind man, hence why he was hated so much there was a revolution. The country was an absolute monarchy with a secret police that spies over everyone and would jail or kill anyone who opposed the tsar, peaceful protests ended in mass shootings by his guards, he forced his people into a meaningless war and gave them brooms to fight with, 95% of the agricultural land was owned by landlords, once socialism took power this land was redistributed. Most people were uneducated under the tsarist rule, socialism made education a free right, most people had horrible health under the tsarist rule, socialism made healthcare free and doubled the life expectancy. The tsar was not in any way a kind man, and certainly not a ‘benevolent ruler’ for as many crimes western propagandists attribute to Stalin he didn’t rule alone, he tried to resign four times unlike the tsar who did everything he could to maintain absolute power, he was elected democratically and the ussr’s constitution under Stalin was decided almost entirely democratically, he had one vote in the party that was made up of worker representatives that were voted on by the people. Compare that to the tsar who was merely a monarch who inherited his power.

2019-06-30 06:19:39 UTC

You can say that Stalin killed his opponents in the purge,(I’d recommend reading origins of the great purges and the road to terror to see why this is false) although the primary evidence shows that criticism was encouraged under the ussr, that Stalin had only 6000 in opposition of him when he was elected and that most of the killings attributed to stalin during the purges were commuted by Yeezhov, whom was arrested for his corruption. You can say Lenin called him power hungry in his last testament but that was shown to have been false and even still it is. It as if he thought highly of Trotsky. In 2016 53% of Russian and 58% of Georgians said stalin had a mostly positive role in history, I doubt they’d say that about the tsar. Even with this I would never call stalin a ‘kind man’ or a ‘benevolent ruler’

2019-06-30 06:21:46 UTC

The Tsar was a kind man

2019-06-30 06:21:48 UTC

2019-06-30 06:24:05 UTC

The Tsar was a great leader, he was governing one of the largest empires

2019-06-30 06:24:13 UTC

With that comes great responsibilities and heavy tolls

2019-06-30 06:24:28 UTC

It is always their wives that cause trouble for the kings

2019-06-30 06:24:45 UTC

The French Revolution started with Maria-Antonette being so out of touch with the people that people had her husband and her killed.

2019-06-30 06:26:06 UTC

The Russian Revolution started with Alexandra being rejected by the Russian people as she was seen not even Russians and Rasputin made it worse by attempting to do ill on the Russian people

2019-06-30 06:26:52 UTC

Even in China, dynasties fell apart simply because the wife refused to let her husband fuck his harem

2019-06-30 09:41:57 UTC
