This was God creating lightness and darkness
God wouldn't need to have a source for either
God was creating His universe to hold to those laws
Yeah, we prefer our scriptures to be inspired ๐
Yes
The reason the deuterocanonical books are omitted is due to the belief that they, while being legitimate historical books, are not divinely inspired.

Scripture is authoritative
It doesn't
But if at any point the traditions of men contradict the word of God we must take the words of God above the vain traditions of men
@Phil With Frankincense Do you believe that the successors of the apostles inherit the same exact power and authority that their predecessors had?
So yes?
The Pope can do whatever Peter could?
No
I am asking if the Pope actually has the same powers as Peter did
The powers that made an Apostle unique among Christians
So if they do inherit the powers the Apostles had, the Pope being the rightful inheritor of Peter's authority and power ought to be able to raise the dead on command, right?
Alright so if the only point of succession is the position in the church what makes the Catholic clergy, in this case the Pope, any different than another saved Christian regarding the interpretation of scripture.
Are we not all saved by the same Jesus and indwelled by the same Holy Spirit?
I am yes
I am not trying to make the father meme
I have a genuine question
My question is how much of the Apostle's power (specifically the Pope) do their successors inherit
And if that power is not the full Apostolic power why the Pope is then to be considered special among other saved people
Right so it is the Pope alone who has unique powers?
So who gives the Bishops this power?
The Power to loose and to bind was given exclusively to Peter, is it not?
So at what point does that power cut off? Like, what powers did the Apostles have that their successors do not and why not?
Well that wasn't my question
The apostles had the ability to heal the sick for instance, why do their successors not have this power?
Okay so does Christ not work through their successors to do this then
Well not every minister is an inheritor of this unique ability
So the Pope *should* be able to command the dead to come back to life?
So the successors of the apostles have the same powers that any other believer has then
What makes them special then?
According to?
So they only have authority based on historical lineage rather than being spiritually unique
Right so have there ever been any successors that have deviated from the Church's teaching?
And these people having the lineage to the apostles should be justified through their authority to define doctrine?
But if they used that authority to contradict scripture is nullified?
Now, I know this may be a bit difficult but do you have any sources that proves absolutely that either an apostle or a disciple of an apostle believed in doctrine such as infant baptism, the veneration of saints, or a literal interpretation of the bread and blood?
Is that a no?
You didn't give a direct answer
I was asking if you had it
brb
back
My issue is whether we confirm that these traditions are truly apostolic
And what source would you cite?
You wouldn't happen to have something that documents Irenaeus and John's relations would you?
Thank you

As far as I know, "hell" is the dark place where souls destined for damnation await until the day of final judgement.
Once the new heaven and new earth are made that is where the saved shall live and the lake of fire is where the damned shall go
Iirc
Limbo and purgatory are completely made up
God hates the wicked
These people once dead are rejects
Limbo and purgatory are constructs of the Catholic church and do not align with scripture. You either go to heaven or sheol (hell) until the day of final judgement where you are then either cast into the lake of fire or will inhabit the newly made earth.
And who are you to say what he *does* do?
The idea that someone can be saved through ignorance is absolute non-sense
it implies that damnation is unjust or that God has an obligation to save people
SIMPLE AS
This is all aside from the point of how a loving God damns people
Which the answer to that is he doesn't love them, he hates them.
Modernist cucks seething at the thought of people not working 60 hours a week for $50,000 a year with no freedom or self determination
