Co writing credits to @One Shot Paddy
Does anyone have any lines from already established songs that you really dig? Like lines that make your skin crawl that we can edit and adapt the message to whatever monstrosities we create?
I'll start by saying "Carolus Rex" by sabaton has a lot of good fucking one liners that make me feel great.
"No man alive or dead commands me, I answer to the Lord" is a great one. Also, I don't remember what song it is from, or who wrote it, but I really love the line "To hell in good company."
The song in hell Iโll be in good company by The Dead South gas great lines
Is anyone good at making lyrics line up with music?
Heโs probably hung over right now
"Keep your rifle by your side" from Far Cry 5 actually is pretty good
Also he lives on the worst coast
We should totally make something to the tune of Yankee doodle. Return to the roots
@Hellhound6 Hop up in here boi
Ssuuuppp
My country tis of the is never a bad one eithrr
Either*
"ain't I right" is a good beat
I second yankee doodle, I can fuck with a colonial vibe
Swamp Donkey: "Write boogaloo parodies!"
Me hungover as fuck: "Am I a joke to you?"
Hey the IRA song loughall martyrs is a great Duncan tribute base
Everybody listen to that song right now and tell me I can't adapt it to Duncan
^I think I could make that work, I have all the time in the world the next few months. Adapting these songs is actually kind of hard and tedious sometimes to have the end result actually sound good
You take the song, get all the lyrics in a word document, put in the chords at their correct places, then go through the songwriting phase of basically taking every single line and reworking it to speak a different narrative. It's sometimes tricky with songs that have a very memorable chorus, in that you either have to surrender the song to be less thorough or find words that sound very similar and hope they have the same impact.
There are a lot of nuances to doing these parodies/adaptations, some are far easier to do than others.
I would be thrilled if other people besides me started doing these
This song is most excellent and I've considered starting working on it
I love Cumberland gap
@Bard It would be cool if you did one for duncan. I am listening to that song right now
It would be even better if, for each verse, we had lines for a different martyr.
It would be helpful to me for you guys to compile a list like that
As an honorary nod to those who weren't as fortunate as us. Could even mention ruby ridge or waco
I'll get some work on it done today
to quote Soap in the mission contingency on MW2 "Make it count these things don't grow on trees"
If these are the same sort of "Firearms charges" that caused ruby ridge, oughta call the song "2 inches of iron"
In Potomac city Maryland, just a day ago, a boy of 21 there got a taste of federal law
His friends online were waitin', for tragedies to find, the boy of olden Maryland had a brand upon his mind
He dared to speak his mind, his thoughts were his crime
There's a great line in too many martyrs were it says "The country gained a killer, and the country lost a man"
so sad
Alright I'm getting fucking amped up right now
I want to rewrite the song, cut the track, do a dub over so the lyrics sound really clear and nice, then put it under a video slide show of Duncan's life with his pictures etc.
Finish that, post it to PWAVE, good to go
A proper tribute, none of this half assed shit
Hell yeah dude, I'll throw it up for you when you get it all set!
you should add in a line at some place that says something about us boys not being afraid to die, because all the boys will meet us in the after life. Cause we all are mad about this.
Ryan Taylor from fb here
ryan Throw up one of your jams
1775 anti tax street ballad โWhat a Court Hath Old Englandโ. Also, The melody is a very popular old one called โderry downโ which would serve well for writing new songs to it
Could only post a small segment of the video but you get the gist
I dig it. I think we gotta have some more shidd to rally behind. Music is, of course, the ultimate bond
Indeed!
@Rustbelt Rover a fellow bard! Welcome friend, and a 12 string man, my kind of dude
Used to have a nice Martin 12 but I sold it for extra money when I went to school
Still regret it
@Bard haha yea its actually a 12 string strung with only 6 strings. I like the wider neck spacing.
That's a Kurt Cobain move right there
Except that fucker stringed a 12 string classical with only 5 strings and did all his demos with that
And still sounded badass
So I make heavy shit. If anyone wants to make some music to roll into battle with, I'm down
thats a stupidly simple beatdown song
I make shit like this too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLU_iXioJpY
Sounds good man, if you write something badass I can maybe put lyrics to it
I imagine my song as a country song... Kinda inna style like Big Iron, but also something slightly John R Cash like
THEY CALL ME CHOO CHOO TRAIN
I'M HERE TO BRING THE PAIN
I SHOOT THE FEDS
I MAKE COPS DEAD
BRINGIN' FIRE LIKE THE RAIN
I GOT MY HEAVY 'CHINE GUN
I GOT MY BELT FED
I GOT MY PEW PEW BLASTER
SO GOODBYE YA FUCKIN' FED
I SHOOT THE FEDERAL AGENTS
I SHOOT THE COPS DOWN
GUN THEM HARD
LIKE FUCKIN' DOGS
AND IN THEIR BLOOD, THEY DROWN
why don't we cover black sabbath songs
we already have 1 boogalo song
fuck it's paddy's day
alright my game plan is to get drunk now and write come out ye multicams
I was born on a broken street where the federal drums did beat
And the lovin Redcoat feet they tramped all over us
And every single night when me bois would come home tight
We'd invite the neighbors outside with this chorus
Come out ye multicams come out and fight me like a man
Show your wife how you butchered kids in Kandahar
Show em how the Boogaloo made you run your asses through
On the dull and dusty streets of Philadelphia
Fable 1 was the best but I respect the submission
fable 2 was a big part of my childhood
after playing it i have kind of a hard time picking up the lost chapters on pc mainly because of the controls
there's a lot more to it than there was for fable 2 and the way the characters, um, are, make it hard for me to get immersed but that's a problem with fable in general
Anyone here like writing hip hop/rap
I do it. Same with like punk rock and shit
speaking of punk rock
