Me hungover as fuck: "Am I a joke to you?"
Hey the IRA song loughall martyrs is a great Duncan tribute base
Everybody listen to that song right now and tell me I can't adapt it to Duncan
^I think I could make that work, I have all the time in the world the next few months. Adapting these songs is actually kind of hard and tedious sometimes to have the end result actually sound good
You take the song, get all the lyrics in a word document, put in the chords at their correct places, then go through the songwriting phase of basically taking every single line and reworking it to speak a different narrative. It's sometimes tricky with songs that have a very memorable chorus, in that you either have to surrender the song to be less thorough or find words that sound very similar and hope they have the same impact.
There are a lot of nuances to doing these parodies/adaptations, some are far easier to do than others.
I would be thrilled if other people besides me started doing these
This song is most excellent and I've considered starting working on it
I love Cumberland gap
It would be even better if, for each verse, we had lines for a different martyr.
It would be helpful to me for you guys to compile a list like that
As an honorary nod to those who weren't as fortunate as us. Could even mention ruby ridge or waco
I'll get some work on it done today
to quote Soap in the mission contingency on MW2 "Make it count these things don't grow on trees"
If these are the same sort of "Firearms charges" that caused ruby ridge, oughta call the song "2 inches of iron"
In Potomac city Maryland, just a day ago, a boy of 21 there got a taste of federal law
His friends online were waitin', for tragedies to find, the boy of olden Maryland had a brand upon his mind
He dared to speak his mind, his thoughts were his crime
There's a great line in too many martyrs were it says "The country gained a killer, and the country lost a man"
so sad
Alright I'm getting fucking amped up right now
I want to rewrite the song, cut the track, do a dub over so the lyrics sound really clear and nice, then put it under a video slide show of Duncan's life with his pictures etc.
Finish that, post it to PWAVE, good to go
A proper tribute, none of this half assed shit
Hell yeah dude, I'll throw it up for you when you get it all set!
you should add in a line at some place that says something about us boys not being afraid to die, because all the boys will meet us in the after life. Cause we all are mad about this.
