We know the sentiment that your average “racist” exposes is more autonomous and arbitrary then calculated because they don’t have the intellectual bandwidth to state exactly what they mean and feel. It’s genuine none-the-less but it lacks the agility of a more nuanced approach, hence we’re here. What I’m concerned about is painting ourselves into a corner. Openly collaborating with people who espouse values/behaviors which are detrimental to our movement is a good way to have ourselves lumped together with those types of people in the eyes of conservatives. We work very hard to maintain a certain image of well-adjusted people and it can easily be ruined if we let those with questionable optics affiliate with us.
