no, they broke their Covenant with God. The New Testament is the Good News of the New Covenant.

Christians are the "Chosen People" (I hate the term, sounds too Jewy after the Jews kept defiling it)

Only after the death of Jesus on the cross and the acceptance of Jesus as our Lord and Savior made flesh could the New Covenant be consecrated. We remind ourselves as Christians of this Covenant every time we take Communion.
