@Machinimal, I don't believe that's the case, as selective service was optional for me. However, as a young teen, I had enrolled myself into selective service early on, in which my registration was automatically sent in and active on the day I reached the US age of majority, 18.

My early registration for selective service was either in South Carolina or Florida, but I had attained my license in FL.
