@Machinimal, I don't believe that's the case, as selective service was optional for me. However, as a young teen, I had enrolled myself into selective service early on, in which my registration was automatically sent in and active on the day I reached the US age of majority, 18.

Yeah, I believe it varies from State to State.

My early registration for selective service was either in South Carolina or Florida, but I had attained my license in FL.

Actually, I believe I had opted for early registration in both States. 😄

Those not subject to governance shouldn't have any say. The logical conclusion of the inverse has been *progressively* unfolding for quite some time, the reason universal suffrage was not law at the founding of the Republic.

Honestly, at this point, I'd be fine with the removal of universal suffrage.

I'm not as gung-ho about the property requirement, but I do believe that civil service of some kind should probably be needed.
