The easiest way I can explain it is to think of how a game or movie or cartoon is made. There are still frames, still positions, but the computer or projector renders each one in succession to create the illusion that time is passing as it cycles forward or backwards through the slides.

In our case, the entire universe is a still frame and we're moving in some fourth spatial dimension through each universe frame

that is slightly different from our present one

but we only ever experience time in the present. We can't experience the past or future. We can only create abstract memories or fantasies about them in our minds.

Saw the Mulan trailer. Totally unimpressed. The thing people don't get about the Disney remakes is that people liked the originals mainly cuz of the soundtrack, which they barely even pay lip service to in the films. Like, if I started singing, "Let's get down to business ..." I'd have half a dozen people in the immediate vicinity echo, "... to defeat ... the Huns!" Same with "Oh I just can't waaaaaaait to be kiiiing ..." or any of a number of other examples.

At least Brave, Tangled, and Frozen are original.

The saddest I've seen thus far has to be The Jungle Book. Decent film, but I cringed so hard at their attempts to insert songs. It was just pathetic and lifeless.

I felt like Ruby Rodd from Fifth Element going, "What was that? It was BAD! It had nothing, no fire, no energy, no nothing!!" As for the ones that DO have songs, if I wanted to see a live action version, I'd just go watch them on Broadway.

With Mulan specifically, I'm just waiting for them to inset some kind of transgender subtext into it, completely missing the whole point of the original.
