but they taylor that algorythim
we aren't even getting a sliver of the real picture of reality anymore
Nah, I think he'd be fine. The important thing is we're all center.
nah, more like the sheer volume.
i only get center left / center right media in my feed
I dont even use social media
only youtube
same
And... Well, KiA, thedonald... Youtube
facebook is literal cancer
DailyWire.. PJW, Styx, Sargon, Tim..
and depression
I kind of watch youtubers from across the entire spectrum to get a good view of things. I watch both Kyle Kulinski and Braving Ruin, for example.
@GingaBomber do you watch david knight?
Nope, out of all the Infowars guys i only watch PJW
Well, I did watch Rubin report for a few of his interviews
kk, you might like him though
If hes still considered left
DK is libertarian
To be honest, I watch for the personality as well. and for specific segments
Yeah.
Like when Damore went on Rubin, PJW, and Joe Rogan
Like I know the Joe Rogan thing is a sore spot with Tim.
Did anyone else catch the Warski stream where Sargon and Styx debated with Richard Spencer?
Nah, I kinda prefer interviews, I dont like conflict
missed it
I got to admit that I wasn't expecting Sargon to lose his cool the way he did.
I guess debate just isn't quite his thing, though.
depends on how structured it is
Debate is a skill, and you can be right about the subject matter, but still 'lose' if you're not really good at conveying what you're trying to say.
That's one of my weaknesses. lol
I mean Spencer has to do that all the time.
Sargon does not do that much. Hell he and Rogan got pretty heated as well
Its probably just a thing with Sargon in general.
Still, I now try to avoid having to debate.
But only cause it usually causes both parties to be unhappy so
Yeah.
I had a best friend since 7'th grade of school, since we were children, that I lost because of this nonsense.
Well, still kind of 'have', we still talk, but it's just not the same.
some passions run deep
Now we're at it again, this time about The Last Jedi. lol
He thinks it was good, I think it was a trainwreck.
full of feminist ideals and crap, could have been better if they were less cramming their ideas down people's throuts
Even just from a basic storytelling perspective it is a mess.
editing is an art
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFMyMxMYDNk How Star Wars was saved in the edit
I just hate that it invalidated all the cool parts from the original lore
magic girl powers
Like come on, Wraith Squadron?
Hand of Judgement?
Mara Jade?
know everything about the force once you first learn of its existance
And lightsaber combat.
Anakin Solo and his twin siblings Jaina and Jacen?
no need for masters any more the knowledge is in the dna
Like how the fuck man? Luke had to train with Yoda, Anakin with Obi Wan.
And Rey just happens to be able to use it.
girl power for the win
and know how light speed works without any exp
How to use the Millenium Falcon
Like bitch she only just got on it
As cool as that scene was, it wasn't possible according to Star Wars technical lore. Hyperspace is a separate dimension, so her ship would have just gone right through the fleet, not tore into it.
I mean, I just realised that I wasnt the customer anymore.
The target audience.
But fuck man, I got real attatched to some characters in the books and it kinda makes me sad that there will be no more lore on them
books and movies rarely coincide
Didnt really bother me.
I didnt really click with the heroes aspect of the movies
I preferred the stories of the common soldier
The more time I spend thinking about facets of TLJ the angrier I get
the books and such were more for the fan who wanted to read more, past the Luke saga; either into the future or the past. it was a good way to explore what happens after...these new movies....they don't do that
they take well loved characters, characters that have been the face of the brand for a long time, and essentially slaughter them for all te fans to see
*the. Sorry, got a new keyboard, still trying to work out the key size and stuff lol
Star Wars fans know that Luke, Leia, and Han can't be the ones doing this type of thing forever, they are probably one of the few fan bases that understand time still moves in their favorite universe. but to do what they did to them and the franchise, that's not the way to do it at all...
i don't even have a problem with that. i have a problem with the fact that tlj had the worst script of any star wars movie and included jokes that would have been rejected in the "Scary Movie"-Series.
Or rose
this is one way to deal with fake news https://archive.is/WOLer **Thailand's Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha set up a cardboard cutout of himself to answer questions from journalists**
I,mean id also take an attempt to criticize them on their laws regarding shittalking the royal family.
Thats a hatespeech law technically.
well we at least got rid of one of our hatespeech laws - the majesty paragraf https://archive.is/y3Hs5
Hmm I did recall tim talking about his time in Thailand.
Spencer and millennial woes have to constantly be challenged on their views so they are masters of debate
Sargon asked questions theyโve probably heard a thousand times
with the state of the world today good luck arguing against the person promising law and order and nationalism
I still love the whole bit where Spencer literally said "I'm smarter than you I know what you're thinking" (has Richard Spencer built a time machine and travled to the future then watched every season of Rick and Morty? )
He clearly watches the show
Google is fake news http://thefederalist.com/2018/01/10/googles-new-factchecker-is-partisan-garbage/
i'm not suprised
making an AI to fact check politics is next to impossible
at most you are just training it to have the same political bias as the people creating the training data
even if it was an oracle and knew every fact in existence, it still would not be able to properly filter out shitty news
simply because most lie by omission and connect things that are unrelated to help their narrative
There was an interesting question in the article though why don't liberal sites get this fact-checking option turned on?
i assume it's enabled for every popular news outlet
their training data and/or model is just shit (and always will be as long as a human isn't reviewing everything)
I personally haven't tested it so I don't know
Yeah it sounds like they just cross reference tags from news sites and fact-checking sites trying to prove everything is false that is said by a conservative or a libertarian
i doubt they are explicitly censoring conservatives
but it's really easy for you to make an AI that differentiates left and right news articles
Right there just sowing seeds of doubt so those that are on the fence choose to go with the liberal because the conservative is always the one being shown to be false
