Seeing Society as a whole which can put its societal well-being before the individual freedoms of its members is something that I have heard to be called "socialism" (I think related to Plato's views), not too different from Corporativism

And Chavism does follow that overall philosophy.

Also, they have struggled to keep control of the market, to subvert private property in favor of state property, to state-based social programs that have taken a large role in social welfare and survival, to control the distribution of food.... all those things point to socialism
