What's not being realized there is that communication is about more than words. If you steal my cookie and I chop your fingers off because of it....you might be hesistant to take my cookie again or more likely to kill me and just take my cookies.

That's why I prefer talking in person over telephone over text

Well it's about data, right? The more data the better the resolution of the picture.

I mean, text communication has the bonus of less chance for misunderstanding due to accents, mispronunciation, mishearing, or misremembering. It is also recorded by default.

but you stand a chance of miscommunication due to loss of body language and vocal inflection

although things like emojis and other text specific habits help negate that to a degree
