But this won't be free college to those people who meet the high meritocratic standard, this will be free college for everyone regardless of grades and regardless of market demand for their degree.
It has to be free college for useful degrees though,
If you can get a generation of actual tech-savvy people to fill the void, you dont have to import outsiders,
And their contributions will increase the value of your nations GDP due to technological improvements, meaning everyone starts making better money because you become the powerhouse economy due to having a lot of competition on high-end degrees
abortion, limited government, free trade (not corporatism), etc.
They specifically don't want that.
I'm for easing the crippling burden of student debt but I also think people who've gotted degrees in the insanely corrupted modern liberal arts should have to deal with the consequences of spending their time on something so pointless.
They want free for everyone with no qualifiers.
cuz they're pissing away taxdollars on useless degrees that end up costing us more than they add
I'm fine with like, a President Bernie Sanders saying free college because I don't think he's gonna make it happen from the executive branch
this is why big government is bad,
A corporation can't make bad decisions or they'll go bankrupt and fail
If a Government makes a bad decision, well the taxpayers can just pay for the loss, and you start anew
Sanders is a socialist, he'll make it happen from executive cuz its all central control
A government makes a bad decision and your currency hyperinflates, punishing those who invest and save.
But from the bully pulpit of the POTUS seat, you can say we need to do something about crippling student debt and it becomes part of the mainstream narrative, which is a good thing.
Want to fix student debt? Make it dischargable in bankruptcy proceedings, and allow banks to refuse to issue student loans based on degree and grades.
crippling student debt is all facebook 18-30 year olds talk about,
its already a mainstream narrative, but no one in government cares cuz the Dems see it as a way to get votes,
And the Reps see it as a way of forcing you to keep paying banks
Wew
Dems: You got student debt? okay vote for me and i'll use your own taxpayer money, minus administration fee, to pay you back a small share to help pay it off
Reps: You got student debt? okay vote for me and i'll make sure you can loan a lot more from banks because your economic prospects are higher due to lower taxes, but you'll have to pay back more
Schools: Oh you got more money? Good we can raise prices and hire more school administration and diversity hires for a good reputation
I'm in indentured servitude now because I put myself in debt getting a doctorate in Gender Studies, this system needs to be toppled!
someone hand me my cattle-prod, we gotta bring Neptune back into the waking world 😛
students: might be a good idea to tell schools to fuck off and do my own thing...stick it to the system
Bank: You want us to loan you $100,000 for a degree in Sociology? Are you in the top 0.01% of students? No? Get the fuck out.
Honestly I think high school shouldn't be compulsory, that funding should be moved into technical certifications
Autodidacts like Tim show us the way
in its current quality, i'd agree,
That said, a bit of improvement and High-school teaches you the basics
the basics you could learn in high-school are now easily researched by anyone with a phone
most of the stuff I learned in high-school has been useless...but I was in high-school during a time when you did research in a library
I'd agree, but basics are boring so people don't do them,
Especially children, they need something to compel them to learn a bit else they become leftists
games work
and yes, a LOT of high-school can be scrapped
games are awesome to teach things
Anyone who would actually get something out of high school might as well just be sent straight to community college
i would prolly have done better in school if it was handles like uni from age 12 tbh
I got like 40 something credits in high school
I went to community college for most of my high school time, but it wasn't being "skipped ahead" as such
Well i can't speak for the schools you guys went to, nor American schools in general, i heard its really bad
My highschool was mixed between really useful things and absolute retardation "filling time"
Take technical classes kids
I think if anything they just didn't want to deal with my autism
Get your associates at 19
Minimum
i have a blackbelt in autism, does that count?
Then work work work work
