There are some jobs where gender can have an effect, but if you measure the benchmarks it will automatically select for gender anyway.
but there are jobs that women can do in the department
i dont really care if my boss is a man or a women or whatever.
But i do have a problem with my government telling us that by the year 2020 we want to have 40% of government being women.

Spending time and resources training female firefighters which are not going to perform as well as male firefighters is inefficient.

for example, if there is a baseline fitness requirement, it will weed out a lot of women, because of hormones and muscle mass and the like.
If they can do the job then im pretty sure no one in here is against hiring them for it
